Hi, i'm planning on going to eurodisney in januay with my daughter and nephew and have found the cheapest way to travel in by booking flights with aer lingus and hotel and ticket prices direct on eurodisney site. Does anyone have any ideas for travelling from charles de gaulle aerport to eurodisney as i've never been before and have no idea if taxi be too far or if i have to travel into paris then on out to eurodisney.

    thanks for the help

You can get a shuttle bus from the airport directly to the resort. It stops off at all the major hotels at the resort too. I cant remember the cost but it wasnt that expensive. Total trip time is about 1.5 Hours.

You can also get a train direct to just outside the resort gates from the Airport. Its more expensive but much faster ~15 Mins. I cant remember which train it is but its fairly easy to find out.

Which hotel are you staying in ?

Enjoy your trip and if you have other Q's just ask.

We have booked to go to Eurodisney next May and have rented an apartment one RER stop away. The woman we are renting from very kindly sent me the directions to get from CDG - I have left in the info about the shopping centre 1 stop away from Disney as might be of interest to some :

The TGV is a very high speed train that drives you in 15 minutes to Disneyland Paris station, called “MARNE-LA-VALLEE-CHESSY”.
The TGV airport station is located in terminal 2, between hall D and hall F, the price is around 22 euros per person.

The RER train station is located at the same level than the TGV’s one, terminal 2, between hall D and hall F.
Take RER B (blue line) in direction to Paris. Take the direct one, the one that goes directly to “GARE DU NORD”.
    Go out at station “CHATELET-LES-HALLES”.
Go on the opposite side of the platform, and take RER A (red line) in direction to “MARNE-LA-VALLEE-CHESSY”, Disneyland Paris.

Please notice that you have to check out on notice boards that the name of your station is lightened up, which means that the train stops there.

When you are coming from Paris, the apartment’s nearest exit is number 1.
The exit number 2 reaches a huge shopping centre called “CENTRE COMMERCIAL VAL D’EUROPE”, where you can find groceries, bakeries, restaurants, a giant aquarium called Sea Life, and an outdoor outlet shopping village, with designers discount stores and even a Starbucks coffee!

I highly recommend you to take with you identity photographs in order to take a weekly train card, called “CARTE ORANGE”, for zone 1 to 5, (Disney to Paris), which costs 31,50 €/person for the week.
This card allows you to take the train RER every now and then, to go to Paris or to Disney. It allows you as well to take the Parisian metro, and every bus.

Good info but no need to get the weekly card unless you plan to use the train a lot...

Paris is about €13 return should you only want to visit for one day.

Lainey which hotel are you staying at?

The Disney bus takes about 45 mins from airport to Disney but you could be waiting a while for it.

Good point about the weekly ticket. We are going to get it as staying one stop away from Disney and have 3 days in park, 4 days to slob/travel into paris. Our apartment is working out €400 for the week, then Air France flights another €400 for 4 people so working out very reasonable. Air France are around the same price as Aer Lingus but no baggage charges (so far) and also hoping will have good check in facilities at CDG. I found the Aer Lingus check in to be a bit of a bun fight - very disorganised and opened very late. Maybe caught it on a bad day!

can anyone advise if i and my family can get a train direct from paris cdg airport to eurodisney and any details would be great
    thanks all:)

There are lots of trains from CDG to Eurodisney (Marne Le Vallee), the station is right in the heart of things and the shutle buses for all the hotels stop right outside.

Personally I would go by Train rather than bus, just to expeience a French train. The dart will never seem the same again :)

Does anyone know the approximate cost of the RER for the trips above - been looking online but not having much luck.

Travelled on Disneyland express before and it is handy but €162 return for the five f us - if RER was significantly cheaper it might be worth my while legging the bags around.

BTW I think Disney should provide cheap transport for their clients form the airports but that's another story.

You won't find the cost of the trips online...just times.

CDG -> Paris is about €8 and Päris -> EuroDisney is €7

They do have cheap(ish) transport but it's only for the people staying at Disney hotels. If you're not staying at a Disney hotel then you'll have to head into Paris anyhow to stay there.

Thanks - 15 each way for five of us will cost 150 as opposed to the Disney bus which is 162 - think it will be the Disney bus again.

We are staying in a partner hotel so I'm fairly sure the bus stops there - what I mean is that maybe when you book a deal with them online they should throw in the transport from the airport or at least as an optional discounted extra - I went Aer Lingus to CDG becasue I thought the trip from Beauvais would work out too expensive but having to add €162 to get to park and back makes Beauvais seem like it was the best option after all - direct shuttle bus from there too.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 10,912 Mod ✭✭✭✭Ponster

Well you either take the shuttle for €162, the RER via Paris for €150 or the TGV which is about €22 per person but only takes 10 minutes as opposed to 90 minutes via Paris.

IMO you should take the TGV rather than dragging the family onto a bus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 515 ✭✭✭ZOLTAN28

10 minutes on the TGV is certainly tempting - is that €22 for everyone or is there a reduced fare for children?

The Bus doesn't take 90 mins. It takes an hour at most.

If you are staying at a partner hotel you simply take the VEA bus to the station in Disneyland and hop on a Pink bus to your hotel.

Hijacking this thread with another question :) We are going to Disneyland for 5 nights. We will be staying in Disneyland but will spend 2-3 days in Paris also. We are planning on buying the ParisVisite card - http://www.ratp.info/touristes/index.php?langue=en but struggling to see what times the trains run to Marne-la-Vallee in Disneyland until? I think it is 1am but the timetables are in French. Can anybody shed some light on this please?

00h36 from Les Halles (town center). Probably 01h36 on weekends.

Thanks Ponster. As a matter of interest, where did you find this or do you just know from experience?

I've been to Eurodisney numerous times and if you want you can get a private bus (Volkswagen type 12 seater) for the same price as the Disney shuttle bus from cdg. It takes no more than about 30/40 minutes. If there is a direct train from cdg to disney that will be the cheapest option Do not go to Paris it is completely the opposite direction. If anyone is staying in a partner hotel it's most likely in val d'Europe which is one short stop on the train costing about €1.

The Disney website has comprehensive info on how to get to the resort and is well worth a visit before you go.

This may also be of help...

Thanks Mallet Head. We will go direct from CDG when we arrive but we will be going in and out from Disney to Paris several timesover the following 5 days. The ParisVisite card seems to be the cheapest option for this.

Pretty much every metro/train line leaves Les Halles at 00:30 on weekdays but I checked on the ratp.fr site (the address you gave) just in case.

Let me know if you need a step-by-step explanation in how to use the site.

    Hello all;

I usually get a shuttle from Beauvais to Disney which costs 110 each way for a people carrier (upto 6 people). I just found out the company I use also does CDG disney for 60 euro each way per vehicule for upto 6 people. The guy I always book with is called John (tel: 033 665566121), he speaks English and is full of info' about what to do in the area.

    Hope this helps.

    Sean

PS: I heard a rumour that there will be a coach service direct from Beauvais to Disney by the end of the year, did anyone else hear about that?

Hope this helps: When i fly into either Beauvais or CDG i use an airport shuttle transfer company: The last time i used them from CDG to Disney it was 60euro each way for 6 of us. Or 10 euro each! From Beauvais, which is where I usually fly to (Ryanair cheap flights), they charge 110 euro each way again for 6 of us. You can call the owner of the company directly on 0033665566121, he's Irish and is very helpful.

Question of my own. Does anyone have contact, ideas, etc..for cheap selfcatering near Disneyland Paris?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 322 ✭✭SilverSparkle

    http://www.pv-holidays.com/

    And search for Disneyland Paris.

They have apartments in Val d'Europe

Hi, stumbled across these pages while surfing. My family & I always use self-catering. Less hassle than a hotel and usually a lot cheaper. We book with a French girl maried to an Irish guy that have several selfcatering apartments in some of the little villages around Disney. They're called 'valeurproperties.com'. Very good value and very nice. We've been there three times now and will definetly use them again.
PV are good as well, friends stayed there. It's more hotel style. It's actually Disney who own PV. So.....no surprises.

    Hi All,

You could also use a private shuttle service. Here's the contact number of an Irish/French company next to Disney that will pick you up for 60 euro each way: john 0033665566121 (mobile) or john@valeurproperties.com

There's also a bus service run by a company called "VEA", it's 17 euro per adult and 13 euro for kids, under 3's are free. Just be aware it stops at every hotel in Disney before dropping you off at the Disney train station.

I would avoid the "RER to Paris then change to another RER to Disney" route as it can be very long for the Kids and lifts are few and far between.

    Hope this helps;

    R
