Cheap Buy-in tourney - Dublin

    Hi.

A former work colleague of mine has moved to Dublin and has been on the lookout for a regular tourney (League) to play in (he used to play in a Tuesday pub €30 FO). He is playing in a scalps one tonight but at €55 total buyin he is looking for something a bit cheaper to regularly attend.

Does anyone know of any games with a cheaper buyin (either FO or R/T) particularly any league one's that they could recommend. I know he is based near Harolds Cross if location is an issue. Perhaps there are some tourney's directed towards the student scene that would be at the cheaper end of the buyin scale?.

Any advice or recommendations would be welcome.

    Thanks

I think modmuffin has a low buyin game with a league element arranged for his work colleagues which might take interested parties. However as he's never invited me to play in it and the fact that he regularly cashes in the game he might be a little protective! :p

There a good pub game in Buglers, Ballyboden Road, Rathfarnham every Monday, 8pm Start.
Dealer Dealt, 3 professional tables, a few Sambos at the break.
It regularly gets about 30 Players. If more come one table is a fold up table top.
The standard has increased over the past year. Good game and good atmosphere.

Buy in is €30 (€25+ €5) with one top up or rebuy.
    Max spend €60
Starting stack 2500 plus 1000 early bird
    Rebuy 3500
    Topup 4000

I do not know who the OP is nor do I honestly care. Buglers is the closest one to Harolds Cross i know of and one in my area which I enjoy playing. I would like to see it grow as it has everything going for it.

Dealers, Excellent tables and food at the break. It's got a very enjoyable atmosphere and decent standard of play. It is by far the best value for money game outside the casinos.

I'm sure the origional post will confirm that I have no links to him.

I run the game in Buglers,

The buyin is E30 rebuy with 1 rebuy OR Topup of E30.

We usually get about 30 players and as sloane said we have pro tables and at each table we have a dealer which you will not get in the vast majority of Pub Games. The reg is very low (considering) at E10 (25+5).

We also have a league which is ongoing through all of our tournaments in Dublin. The last PP for our League final was €12,000.

It is a nice game with a really good crowd and always a good laugh.

Buglers is situated on Ballyboden Road near the Taylors Lane junction/roundabout.

If anybody needs directions you can PM me and I will forward them to you.

    Regards

    Seán

I can indeed confirm that I have no connection with you whatsoever. Unfortunately as the tournament in question has a total spend of €60 it is in actual fact more expensive that the €55 in the OP. There are however a few €20-30 buy ins mentioned that would be very suitable and I will pass along the information with thanks.

I'm sure he will wander into one or other of those games and can be immediately recognised by being the country boy leaking chips like a bucket, briefly containing chips, with a chip (or slightly larger) sized hole in it.....

Many thanks for the contributions :)

Played this a good few times and it is well worth it. Extremely well run and great bunch of regulars every week. If your of a decent standard then it is also very easy to make a profit at this game.

To quote one of the regulars after getting knocked out " I'm going home to watch COPS and make Love to a CURRY" :D

    PRICELESS

i also live in haorlds cross. you should tell people rathmines it sounds more southside. if i was playing with a budget i would suggest 20 game in jackpot. standard is pretty poor so you can easily do well in it plus its close to studentville or camden street. knocked out by half eleven and the pubs are just waiting for ya. on a side note dit offer a student game but you need to be around from 4.

ditpoker spend 65 euro in a 5 euro rebuy sick sick puppy!!!!!!!!!!
