First reaction is that there is a lot happening in the first photo?

Perhaps a crop on the 3rd photo so its just the lads on the right handside??

Should go into community work you have a talent for clicking with the kids.

Have a look what others are doing
    Halloween Festival Ballymun

And by the way your BW conversions could use a bit of work they always look like flat digital conversions. JMO.
    This might help

On the subject on bonfires, anyone see the thing on RTE News lastnight with Dublin County Council getting rid of pallets and tires that young lads were going to use for a bonfires,

The young lads kept giving the council works mouth and spitting and kept knocking down the ladder they were trying to use to get over a wall.

Some Gardai showed up and they still kept at it until the the Gardai got around the wall and arrested most of them, they did all this while the RTE camera's were rolling.

    Bloody scumbags,

I saw that alright. Little scumbags. Glad the Gardai arrested them. They certainly had some pile of wood.

We've already had two bonfires in the park here over the last two nights, and I assume there will be a big enough one tonight too. The kids are resourceful when collecting wood.

Makes for some interesting photographs though.

Half tempted to go around with the camera to photograph a few bonfires. Then again I might get too lazy if I sit around much longer :D

had a bit of hassle on my last post , i can take it (sort off ) , but hate the labeling of the defencless subjects --

regarding the pop , any quick hints to help my b & w conversions , as i use my own ps action , and modify slightly as required .
here is a colour one from last night

i have a few other interesting ones in my camera , and after tonight i hope to take a bit of a break from photography , and start earning some cash -- or thats the plan -- but life changes ....

If your subjects are anything, defencless isn't one of them.;)

yeah i see what you mean!

the Liberty House gang is good! all happy smiling faces, i don't know if a B&W conversion would make it better tho. i like it the way it is

I'm not a huge fan of B&W at all (maybe coz i'm not able to do it) :o but when i do try it - its to apply red or orange software filters they seem to give the most dramatic changes to a photograph
Sometimes i use alien skin B&W filters which can give good efects too

    :)

ok after chasing the few bonfires around on this quiet Halloween, i think i found the best up in Ballymun -- thanks Sebzy -- this completes a busy day with some of the results

    Heres a sample

I'm wrecked , but the end is near , what began as a small projects in February , when i put down the booze , has become an obsession . Maybe theyre rubbish , but they have been shot with my soul, but it has helped me overcome my own personal demons -- booze , a broken marriage ... and yet again recently another woman i love has left ... so as Julie asked one time to explain what your photographs mean ... theres a quick insight in to my crazy mind ... and i do want to document this mad year in my life with that expo ...eneogh

    Baz....well done.
I dont really think theres all that much for me to say, theres a lot of your shots that i dont particularly care for...but there are a few shots in there that i think are absolutely fantastic.
while i dont completely agree with many of your ideals behind the whole thing, i feel you are documenting a part of your city which is, as with most cities, swept under the carpet all too often. Especially considering that you are dealing very often with Children, and i commend you for that.
Well done for taking on a subject that many people wont touch, and for doing it with a passion and an understanding that many just couldnt pull off.
