What good non-party games are out for the Wii. I have Zelda and I am not really in to Metroid games.

Why aren't you into Metroid games? Have you played either of the past 2 Prime games?

You're pretty much screwed if you're refusing to buy the magnificent MP3... Resident Evil 4 and then Mario Galaxy in 2 weeks are the only ones that I'd consider

I did not like the controls on the Metroid game on the DS. Thats the only Metroid game I played I think. I don't really like the look of the games. But saying that I am tempted to buy MP3 because of the good review. What are the controls like for MP3?

Metroid Prime Hunters was a disgrace to the Metroid series of games, one of the most disappointing games ever for me...
The controls in MP3 are spot on. Apart from not being able to turn around quickly enough sometimes, they're absolutely perfect.

I might go for that so then. Thanks.

I looked at the preview of MP3 on the Wii and I have to say that on looks alone I won't be going near it. Visually it looks very murky. Perhaps it's a taste thing though as although I enjoyed playing Zelda I thought the visuals could have been much better.

It's far and away the best looking Wii game so far. Technically it hasn't been matched on the Wii and artistically it's one of the most beautiful games ever made. The attention to detail is astonishing with every room looking unique. Do yourself a favour and don't deny yourself one of the best gaming experiences ever by not buying this game over something stupid like thinking the graphics are too 'murky'. They aren't, the game is bold and vibrant with some lovely colourful locales.

I'm completely dumbfounded by huge amount of people that dismiss Metroid Prime series due to silly reasons. From it not being like Halo (it's not, it's something much better) to the control scheme (it works fine and because of it the boss battles actually work). I can't understand how a game as close to perfect as Metroid Prime has been dismissed by so many people.

i thought splinter cell was great except a bit short. defo worth the 30 blips its going for now anyway.

scarface is a great laugh. quite like GTA i suppose.

prince of persia is far better then i expected too. good fun. underrated i think.

Excite Truck is worth the money, especially if you have an SD card and can play your own music through it.

OP, Get Zelda, great game. I played RE4 on the PS2 and it was brilliant. The Wii version is supposed to be the best cos of the control scheme. Other than that i can't recommend much else. I'm looking forward to Brothers In Arms out the end of the year. Go for some virtual console games. Super Mario World is great.

I got Metroid on friday. New to nintendo games with the DS and now the Wii so Its my first metroid game and i wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I'm about 2 hours in and i love the control scheme. The potential in it we saw in Call Of Duty 3, etc. has been brought out here. But i personally don't like the Sci Fi atmosphere to it.

Also the set pieces i've seen so far have been just ok. I'm not a huge FPS player but for me, King Kong 2 years back just hasn't been matched since. That game had savage set pieces and great atmosphere. Metroid hasn't quite got there yet for me.

I was a sceptic of the Metroid series up until very recently. I managed to pick up a copy of Metroid Prime on Gamecube with another bunch of games I had bought. I remember looking at the box and somehow feeling sceptical about the game. I stuck it in and played maybe halfway through the first (training) level. There were so many things in the game that were alien to me that I just couldn't get my head around them.

One of my mates came over then one day and he adores Metroid but never played this one. He insisted we stick it in and have a go. It didn't take long before I was sold on it. Great game. This one is even better and I really do recommend that people give it the chance it deserves. Gameplay, Controls, Graphics and Music are all excellent. I'm getting plenty of hours out of this one!

If you like sports games then try Madden NFL

    Mario Strikers Charged Football.

Football -- right, more like "cartoony Speedball".
Plus, nothing makes you feel more like The Man than taking out a Shy Guy with Monty Mole.
    Ooh, that's gotta hurt!

    tl;dr -- It's fun.

The Metroid Prime series never was about creating over the top scripted set pieces. It's more about exploring beutiful alien worlds and the feeling of isolation at being the only one on the world and discovering it's secrets.

Mario Strikers is great fun in multiplayer. The only problem is the expense in getting all the nunchuks and wiimotes.

Okay, so I have Zelda already and I have RE4 for the PS2. I might get Umbrella Chronicles but the Zapper isn't coming out until December. I played Mario Strikers and Excite Truck and I didn't really like them. I am not really into sports games. I was gonna get Splinter Cell but it was €70 in Virgin at the time, but now it is €30 I might get that. If Scarface is like GTA I might get tat also. So it is between Splinter Cell, Scarface and Metroid. Thanks all.

Over the top scripted set pieces in King Kong? Yeah lets face it your right! Over the top and highly scripted isn't a bad thing if it gives you an enjoyable game as i'm sure any one here would agree. One criticism of this would be limited replay value.

Comparing King Kong to Metroid 3 is unfair as metroid is more of a first person adventure rather than a shooter. And yeah it does deserve a chance and i will definetly give it one. I suppose what i want from the wii is more of these type of short, great thrilling games. I wouldn't describe myself as a casual gamer but these type of games would appeal more to the Wii's audience than Metroid does i think.

Getting back on topic i suppose can anybody recommend a similar gaming experience to King Kong on the Wii/DS (or the PC/PS2 for that matter but this is the nintendo board:)).

I played King Kong on both the 360 and the DS. DS version was probably the worst game I've ever played and I finished it in about 2hrs.
The 360 version is definetely close to being one of the worst games I've ever played also and didn't take much longer to finish.

Great. You can play againist of with each other. Very competive and Just the right level of Crazy to have loads of fun with.
The teams do get better the further into the game you get. So you do need a good learning curve.

The godfather is better than scarface, both are in the gta mould. Great use of the wiimote for punching and such. trauma center isn't bad either, its like operation on a console. so if you like that!!

Never played the DS version. I stayed away from that as it got bad reviews. Played it on the PS2. It was a last gen game really. The developers actually came out and said not to buy the 360 version as they ****ed up with the display and it was too dark to see anything on HD tv's.

It was short yeah and maybe FPS purists are rolling their eyes at me saying it was great but i loved that it was full of action and short. Finished it in a weekend. When a game entices you to sit and play for 7-8 hours in 2 days its doing something right.

It's brilliant for that. Wii sports is great with family and friends.

Zelda was great, just sold it on ebay this weekend. Just got Crashbandicoot. Loved the games on the PS2 and this is better than any of the PS2 titles.
