    is it possible to study arabic or hebrew as part of an Arts Degree in UCD???

    yes to hebrew, I'm not sure about arabic any more.

    well one out of 2 ain't bad. is the near eastern languages subject an option in Arts cause i know it contains arabic, hebrew and aramaic

    You can do a module of Beginners' Arabic, not sure if there are more advanced ones.

    UCD didn't offer Arabic this year at all and Hebrew only for 3rd year.

    Don't think it is anymore. The Brady regime, in its infinite wisdom, is phasing out that department (because, sure, that's not an important subject; I mean, where's the innovation or robust, synergies moving forward?).

    The only lecturer in it no longer teaches. There used to be another permanent lecturer but he passed away last year. And the contract lecturer was let go. But, sure, that frees up more money to waste on flags and pennants and posters of the management team.
