I wonder can anyone advise me. I have a Firebird Popular 82 outside Oil Burner. I have the temperature set at 60. but there are also three settings on the burner 1 = 30w 2 = 42w 3 = 60w.
What is the best setting to get the optimum usage from the boiler.
It used to run sweetly and i found the heat output perfect but i do not know what it was set at. A well intentioned friend fiddled with it and the heat output does not seem as good.
The temperature has always been set at 60 and the radiators have been bled and are fine.

    ANy advice.........?

    Fionnuala,

I'm not familiar with the exact model but the burner wouldn't normall have 3 different settings on it. However your circulation pump would. Is there a chance these setting would be the speed control on your pump?

    Any pics?
