I'm looking to a buy a first, basic acoustic guitar, will spend I suppose 60-100 Euro. Is there anything I should look our for? Are guitars at this price good enough to learn teach yourself the basics and 6 or 7 chords? Are they much of a muchness a this level and equally as good/bad as eachother? Anything I shoudl avoid? Any basic make/model guitar that is tried and trusted that I should look out for?

    Thanks in advance folks

I asked the same question here a few months ago, and was told you can't get anything 'playable' for anything like that price :( I'm an experienced guitar player, but I don't do acoustic, and I was looking for one for my son who's just beginning.

I eventually got him this http://www.thomann.de/ie/yamaha_f310_tbs_westerngitarre.htm

and I'm happy with it. It's a very good beginner's guitar for a reasonable price.

Beginner acoustics are more in the range of 150-450 euros to be honest. Yamaha make good starter acoustic guitars.

I believe Aldi have something in at the minute that falls into your budget. But I wouldn't even use it as a doorstop, personally. A guitar that costs 60 euros cannot be made of anything but sawdust and glue - it's just basic economics. ;)

You might consider 2nd hand? Best thing is to just try a few and get the best you can afford. For 60-100 euro the quality will not be great and as you advance (which wont take long) you will want a better one.

if you could stretch your budget by 50 euros perfect pitch have a yamaha/tuner/dvd/gig bag/spare set of strings for 150 euros.

you could do a whole lot worse than go for that bundle, and your ears will thank me because these bad boys sound awesome for the amount you pay for them and this is coming from someone who plays martin and taylor guitars ie. me :D

i bought a fender starter package in goodwins for 120euro which got me the guitar bag tuner and a few other odds and ends.its not a bad guitar for a beginner.my friend who is playing for years said it was great for the price, and when he played it,it sounded great.dont go out and spend to much money and then not get into it.also when you start with a cheaper guitar and then move to a good one you wont believe how good you sound(i did)
