Cheapest seems to be €1049 in O2/3/AppleStore...

Just wondering does anyone know if there's any special offers available? It's for my amazing gf who's having a baby soon so this is the Big Prezzy for her---hence the quest to save as much money as possible (babies don't come cheap haha!) I'd love to buy her one of the higher specced models, or even the Pro, but the money side of things unfortunately stops that from happening!

Any help would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks!

Buy from the Apple education store. Should save you a few quid (just checked, price is about 986 )and I think you'll also get a free iPod too, although that offer was a month ago so may not still be valid. Congrats on the baby by the way :)

Hi ZENER, yeah i saw that offer on the main site (posted on bargain Alerts about it)---is that the education store or is there a seperate site? Also, do they look for actual proof of education? See I've just finished a course whilst working, so technically I'm not entiteled to the discount...am I?

What's the education site address, do you know?

    Thanks!

Pretty much everyone is aware of the Apple Education Discount scheme. Just enter the name of the college you went to and its location and you should be ok. Go to the Store here and on the left side just under the big blue Apple Store logo with the phone number click on the Education Store then the Ireland store, enter the college name and location and you should be fine.

Here is the link with the free iPod Nano !

Failing that you could always buy an Apple-certified refurbished model. They're orders that were cancelled or returned (they come Apple-certified good as new, with a full warranty). Refurb Store.

Having said that, I wasn't asked for any proof of being a student when I bought my Macbook from the student store, other than knowing UCD was in Dublin :p

get the macbook on the education store with a free nano and you can flog the nano before opening it. Coming up to Christmas, that won't be a problem!

Bear in mind that you need to cut the serial number off the nano box to claim your rebate, so you probably won't get full whack if you sell it.

Do you not have to place your order for the apple education scheme through the internal network of your University though?

Nope. You just click on the 'Education store' link in the main Apple store. If your University offers an internal link you can make slightly bigger savings though.
