Hello ,wondering could someone help me with a speaker question.

I put my plasma tv up on the wall ,between a set of speakers. I'm not sure whether or not that I can do this ,it dawned on me after about the shielding issues.

The speakers are Mission and come with a denon m30

Eh, can't you switch it on and find out?

I don't get it ,are you talking about visible colour ?

I'm asking whether or not it should be done ,obviously I can't see anything at the moment:rolleyes:

    Sorry for being facetious!

I'm pretty sure that plasma screens (or LCDs) are not affected by speakers, even if the speakers are unshielded. The problem is, I think, confined to unshielded speakers and ordinary CRT or rear projection televisions. (The magnetic field from the speakers would interfere with the electron beam and/or the coils or other bits controling the beam, creating a visibly distorted or jittery image.)

I'm almost certain you're safe in what you've done.

Cool thanks ,I wasn't certain if my speakers are shielded .

yup , the shielded centre speaker issue was in relation to CRT's , because of the electron gun any unshielded speaker's magnet would affect this and the picture could become distorted so shielded speakers were the norm when it came to CRT's.

As far as I know there is no such issue with flatscreens , though I do believe that 8ft ( at least ) between the front speakers is the norm to get proper sound field delivery , at least thats what all the manuals seem to say.

I've noticed the sound field is small when viewing DVD's ,it's distracting at low volume.

I'm considering buying the yamaha projection unit and hanging it with the panasonic. What is putting me off buying it ,I don't think it will be very good for anything other than viewing discs.

I have KEF speaker besides my LCD and don't see any problem at all . . .

I put a bigger distance between the speakers and the quality is just far superior.
