    Hiya,
I have two 500gig hd's. One of em works fine. Other one shows up as a floppy drive for some reason. Both sata hd's

Have unplugged it all, plugged it back in...still the same...shows up on the boot screen as two of the same named hd's - same description like - WD500GB....

    Any ideas?

In windows disk management reassign the drive letters to something other than a.. that should possibly fix it

Usually right click my computer on your desktop or in windows explorer and click manage

    Click Disk Management

That will be where it is, and you can right click on the drive that is causing the issue and change the drive letter there

i just tried that and it said "not initialised" beside the drive and i cant seem to change the name anywhere...

heres a screen shot of it

actually when i right click on the others it gives me an option to "change drive letters and paths" put it doesn't give me the option for that on the one having the problems. the others all say "healthy" but that one just says "unallocated" and when i right click on it all i can do is select "properties" or "help"

Right click on the panel that says not initialise and click initialise. You may have to then format the drive..
