Is there to be no more photo challenges?

Just a quick question of the lack of a challenge at the moment , is it all over ? Will there be one for this month ?
I liked these , would hate to see them go.

I will, I'm incredibly busy at the moment, have a hell of a lot of things on my back, but there will be something returning on a regular basis.

Rymus was pretty good at it, why don't you just let him continue? That software he uses is a piece o' cake to set up but.

I've a dedicated server with massive bandwith available. Currently it's mainly used for providing email services to 3rd parties.

I will be doing some massive updates on that server over next couple weeks, including upgrading apache, mysql and PHP to the latest stable releases. Adding coppermine to the list would be no hassle.

If Rymus can give me the skinny on how he administered the photochallenge albums (i.e. uploading without seeing thumbnails, etc.) then I'd happily volunteer to run that side of the challenges.

I reckon it's up for grabs. Someone pick a theme (still think autumn is worth doing but maybe that's just me), and FCD if you want to install coppermine or Darren or whoever gets there first/can be bothered, go for it, and start a thread. That's all you gotta do...

The only reason I stopped doing the challenges is because when I retired from the glamourous world of moderating I could no longer create polls big enough to suit the old voting method.

The gallery and all other gubbins is still active. If someone wants to design a new voting system that doesn't cost the earth (time = money btw), I'll gladly give it a shot. I may throw a basic voting mechanism together, time permitting of course.

Could you get your mod position back, but to only allow you set up polls and doing no other moderating?

I have to say, I loved the challenges and seeing various peoples take on the themes, even though my own shots were always fairly dodgy!!!

Hows about tagging them/setting up a group on Flickr/Pix?

Voting systems are in place there already, and voting was never restricted to those who entered in the old competition, so it shouldn't really matter that they are on such a big site?

I would like to see them back in some format anyway. Disappeared from here for a while and they were stopped when I returned.
