Just heard that there was some sort of dispute at Dublin Airport this morning and some people were stuck in security queues for hours and missed their flights.
    Anyone know anything about this?
Going away tomorrow so hoping it's all vicious rumours!!

Heard a guy on Newstalk breakfast prog. who'd been there in plenty of time for an early morning Ryanair flight to Paris but who missed it courtesy of the security queue taking well over 2 hours !!

so anyone know what happened, newstalk said it was partly due to some sort of ministrike by the security staff?

hmm seems it just a lack of staff on shift?

I was part of a group of 3 with a 6:50 flight on Friday morning. It was completely chaotic, the security queue took up all of the 2 roped areas and wrapped all the way around check in areas 1 to 6. Luckily one of us got to the airport early and joined the security queue for the B&C gates at 5:35. The rest of us joined him and we finally got through security at 6:35 - a 60 minute queue. Our flight was delayed by 30mins due to ATC restrictions, they left the doors open til 7:15 but at least 12 seats were left empty and the captain told us that they had had to offload bags of people still stuck in the queue.

I would have thought that the numbers of people waiting landside posed a health and safety issue. Who is responsible if you miss your flight in such circumstances? I can't see Ryanair rerouting you without charge...!

Personally I'd fill DAAs letterbox/E-Mail with mail demanding they pay the price of my replacement flight, I'd also let local TDs know the situation. No volient harrasment of businesses can work wonders
