    This weekends fixtures are

Fri 26 Oct 18:30 Connacht Rugby v Edinburgh Rugby
Fri 26 Oct 19:30 Glasgow Warriors v Munster
    Fri 26 Oct 19:30 Ulster v Leinster

Any thoughts? I will be heading to the Munster game in Firhill. It seems like a pretty decent Munster team will be playing, hopefully it will be better than the Leinster game in Firhill a couple of weeks ago.

Looking forward to the Ulster game, decided against going, but will watch on Setanta.

I'm working Friday night, so Connacht match is out. It'll be a tough one even though Edinborough aren't doing well either. I'll wait until the Ulster match. Might even win that the way Ulster have gone (wishful thinking:().
I'm seeing alot of Connacht away shirts around. They have that cool All Blacks look, without the embarrassment of being associated with a bunch of losers:D:p

I can see Munster beating Glasgow but Id never back Leinster away. A lot depends on Warwick and whether he can find a bit of form as I think hes a fantastic player. Mapasua could tear Ian Dowling apart tho. The Ulster team looks strong in the front three and I dont think ollie le roux can add enough to combat this. As for Connacht, Edinburgh might be too strong.

Need to start converting good play into points.

Ulster are brutal. Can't even win their own lineouts. Leinster deserve to be more than 6-0 up. Only a matter of time before they get a few tries i would think.

I'd like to think so but wait till they **** it up in the 2nd half and ulster win.

Three times where they went close and stayed too narrow and got pinged for holding on.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,708 ✭✭✭Erin Go Brath

If they mix up it up a bit 2nd half they'll get tries. Send the odd diagonal in Horgans direction etc. Good to see the Irish internationals back in action, they're playing well. LeRous is some beast. Theres no way in hell Ulster will win this game lads!!!

    Try Darcy, Converted Sexton.

Not watching the match cos ive no setanta but listening online. Just thinking Johnny Sexton has to be near first choice out half. Ive always been of the opinion that leinster would never win anything with contepomi at out half (not saying he shouldnt be on the team I think hes a fantastic player) and that sexton was a perfect 10 in waiting. Hes proved to have good hands good kick from hand and strong goal kicker. Anyone got any views?

I think sexton has real potential...but where would Compepomi play? Drop Darcy?

Try Trimble converted Humphries. Hard to make a judgement on Sexton, Humphries just showed his class with the pass to create that try. Watching on Setanta, the ref is calling Leinster white half the time and the co-commentator talking about Leicester.

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭wixfjord

Cunningham having a fair game? Thats the big question ruggie bear! Based on darceys previous incarnations as a winger and full back thats not really an option! So your looking at injuries to the back line.Maybe sexton is just a very good impact 10, for days when contepomi goes into meltdown (which are all to numerous) take the munster semi final or the wasps game last year for example

Oh man Ruggie did you predict too well here!?

The forwards put the effort in, in the first half and had nothing to show for it. There will be hell to pay for the fans being on the pitch at the bust up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,958 ✭✭✭✭RuggieBear

missed the fight at the end. what happened?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,708 ✭✭✭Erin Go Brath

Leinster the better team, didn't finish out the game though and paid for it. Humphries turned the game around it has to be said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,958 ✭✭✭✭RuggieBear

wtf was the last penalty for? Darcy...well fair enough but then to give another one within range.....????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,506 ✭✭✭Jackz

No idea what happened Horgan was in the middle of it with one of the Ulster seconds rows I think, soon all of both teams were in around it and then the fans followed around them in a circle, excellent stewardship. "there shall be no fistycuffs unless im involved"

Over the top or playing while off the feet then Ferris took it quick line's man said Leinster werent back 10 hence the penalty.

Puts Irish rugby into perspective doesnt it

    just back from game!
Jeez I am not being biased but that ref and the touch judges were shocking!
draw a fair result I suppose but edinburgh offside more times than i can remember, coming in from the side ,i could go on and on!
ref & touch judges letting them, warned a player several times and left it at that!
Specsavers is not working as a sponsor for these guys!
    j
ps watch friday on setanta for highlights if you dont believe me.
Does the IRFU still want to get rid of us???

In fairness it was just one of those calls look to me that they were back 10 im presuming they were 8 or so.

Still Ruggie Leinster were shocking and in the most ironic fashion, whens the last time we'v seen them bully another teams pack and then the backs just be complete muck.

Dark hours await for Irish Rugby

You have to give it to Humphreys for turning Ulster's fortunes around in 30 mins. They looked clueless before he came on.

He was involved in each of their scores and proved he still has the skills. Leinster definitely should have won the game though and will rue all those missed chances in the first half.

well i suppose it was good that our scrum looked good and the pack were awesome...on the other hand ulster were absolutely appalling for most of the game.

still think it was a bs penalty at the death. not back 10 yards...pfft.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,681 ✭✭✭✭P_1

Well lets just hope that Ollie keeps up that sort of form.
It's been a while since I've seen a Leinster pack perform so well.
Also Humphrey's infuence in that match makes you wonder why he wasn't in a certain Gallic country last month

Not as bad as the crooked put in penalty for the 5metre scrum when we were sure to get over the white line...

Try supporting Connacht.:( Still, a draw is better than a kick in the ar$e:)

Leinster were comical. But then, what do you expect when you have a pair of props called Stan and Ollie?

Could the Laurel & Hardy theme tune become the favourite new crowd chant at the RDS?

    Just a thought. :)

What the hell was Stringer thinking for most of the match, his kicks were aimless and caused more trouble for Munster than Glasgow, Mafi seems to be improving every week but Warwick wasn't his usual self in that match.

I'm not sure what to make of Ulster and Leinster. When Ulster's best player is David Humphreys I think that's a bad sign. They should forgot any notion of trying to play Paddy Wallace at 10 and leave him at either 12 or 15.

I was there and have to agree. Edinburgh were so far offside most of the game they were yards ahead of the touch judge who was like a statue. No yellow card despite repeated infringements.
Despite that, I think the drop goal at the end was over the bar, so we were blessed to escape with the draw. Specsavers could do with providing free eye tests to the referees!
