Hi guys. New to this thread. I was wondering if someone could make any recommendations for teh cheapest place to buy DS Lite games? I am getting one for my wife for Xmas (argos seems to be the cheapest at €149) but was wondering where to get the games cheap or is there such a place?

    many thanks

I think Gamestop works out better value, Teflon. €179.99 with a game (which are usually €40) and a starter kit (case, extra stylii, headphones and some other bits).

Sorry Teflon for jumping on your thread :D

what comes with the DS lite - the basic package.

does it use AA/AAA batteries or an incased rechargeable battery ?
    A charger ?

what else ? or what else should I get before Xmas - it's for the kids.

    Thx

    Karl.

It has a rechargable battery built in and the charger comes with it. The consoles are €149 everywhere but that's just for the console. You're better off getting a bundle deal somewhere as it makes the games work out cheaper and you may get other extras too. Get it ASAP if you want it for Christmas. These will probably sell out so if you want a decent selection of games and colours of the console (black, white, pink or silver) get them now.

Virgin have a bundle €150 including one game from a selection (one of them is more Brain training which might be a good choice if buying for your wife - or maybe it would be an insult???) or €175 with any game plus an accessories pack (kids = simpsons one , not sure about the adults). Argos are meant to have a 2 game plus accessory pack bundle for €195 but is not up on line so can't verify that.

I agree with Attol... get it ASAP - these things are going to be very popular for the next few months (more than usual)...

Just got my daughter a DS Lite in TESCO Dundrum - I got white but all other colours in stock. The silver is €160, rest €150 = you get the money back through clubcard vouchers in February.

I shopped around best deal I could get was the €150 Virgin one in Limerick - free games offered are decent enough - and fair play to them they couldn't find the game I picked and gave me a full price one for the same price. I've got to say though the quality of some of the games I've seen are atrocious even for young kids.

Hi, was in Smyths on Thursday and they're doing a bundle: console, ben 10 game and accessories pack for €150 - thought that was the best price I've seen.:o

Game have the DS, accessories pack and a game for €135 at the moment. Can't remember what the selection of games is though.

Just a world of warning on the Ben10 game, its quite hard considering the age group its aimed at. Lego Starwars or Lego Indiana Jones would be a better bet for first time kiddies :)

Just had a quick look there on memorybits.co.uk, they have some fairly cheap games, or play.com either.

Is it possible to buy a super card with multiple games on it,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,412 ✭✭✭Deedsie

I am going to America next week, would it be worth trying to buy one over there? Are they compatible with games over here?

Does anyone know if game take playstation 2's? I have one with a load of games never look at it, wasting space in the house. Would i get anything off with a trade in?

I have been wondering the same as I would like to buy a multiple game for my 8 yr old daughter.
I seen games on this site

    http://www.games-stock.com/catalog/edutainment-ds-multi-pack-118-games-in-1-cartridge-p-1226.html

Although I have never bought anything off the internet before, so was wondering if anyone knows anything of this site and if it might be reliable

Just took a quick look at that and to be honest, don't know anything about them. I haven't heard of any of the games listed either. Best thing you can do is buy an r4 card for about £30.00 stg and download your own games to it.

He would most definitely be too young for it. My daughter is six and is only getting to grips with it now. I can't think of any game a 2 year old could play. You'd be better having a go at it yourself!
