Hi everyone, long time watcher first time poster here!

I have decided to rin a website for music lovers alike and i would really appreciate your feedback and I also need a lot of information about upcomming events, particularly underground ones, small time people etc but who are really good!

There is a contact form on the website and please if you reffer someone we will try to send somebody to review the venue however please review it yourselves also!

I chose this forum as the website is based in ireland and its all about upcomming events and guids to clubbing in ireland dublin and outside! Also everyone in this forum has a decent opinion and is well mannered etc so its the kind of target market im actually aiming for.

Its not actually a profit website however, its just a project im running and i would really appreciate your help..

Thanks everyone, i know you'l all help out.. Cheers!

    the website is, Music-Pages.net

ill understand if im not allowed post a link in here so if moderators are taking it down, my apologies in advance! :(

    Thanks again guys(and girls ;))

Hi there, just had a quick look at your site and I was impressed so I registered.
Its clean and clear which I think is important.
The most important thing though (Id imagen) is to get a "community" type vibe going on the forums, that way people will continue to visit the site.
How you do that though Im note sure except to say that Im sure it takes alot of time and work.
Maybe some of the boards.ie ie moderators can advise you though this would mean your in direct competition with them................ :)
Anyway the best of luck with it.

I hope so anyway! The most important key to this site for me will be that community.. I mean its required for reviews and feedback and thats the most important thing in this field i would imagine..

If anyone can offer some advice i will be more than happy to listen!

    Cheers!

I like your idea but your design is terrible. I click on events and I get 4 events which are already over and I have to keep clicking to see more? The pictures are counter productive as the text with the names is so small. It doesnt tell me information in a clean and concise way. Here is what you are competing with so you have to have your information at least as neat as this and obviously better if possible.

hey love the idea i set up a bebo band similar to it thou alot more basic but it emphasizes up and coming bands ill spread the word bout the page around the network of bands that i have started establishing best of luck wit it

The website is actually so basic right now, its only up to get an idea on the demand for something like this.

The festivals pages and the venues pages are obviously going to be changed, this is not an issue. Its just are people interested in what its about.

The layout can also be changed if you think its not so clean and clear..

Toast i took what you said into consideration and your right, it needs to be easier and more mangaable to find gigs and venue's etc.

So in light of your comments, i have come up with a small idea..

    http://music-pages.net/dubevents.html

Check this link, tell me what you think, i have only finished the crawdaddy selection so please, select crawdaddy and tell me how it seems to you.

Would you make any changes or anything els?

    Feedback is gratefully appreciated..

    Cheers

I think its an improvement. Theres a bug in it though thats listing the headliner twice though that should be easily fixed. Perhaps have the support act in a smaller font or italicised.

Also just from a UI point of view Id switch your "control" column with your "information" column. Its a bit counterintuitative to be doing something in the middle of the page that controls the left hand side. Left hand side controling the center of the screen would make more sense Id think.

Functionality is good, however the design is terrible its very blocky, needs to flow more and you need to keep the colour of the site consistent as well as the menu options available on every page to allow people to easily move between pages.

Other than that , best of luck :)

indeed irishgigs blocky website designs are horrible ;);)

I know what you mean, its just a bit tricky at the moment to edit everyhting.. I think the script was the first thing to get in order, but i do appreciate the criticisim! Very constructive! Thanks for all the support! Always count on you!

    Navigation is a bit tricky.
The registration opens in a different window, thats a bit annoying.
The design is much too basic, but i guess you're working on that.

Good luck with the site it has potential.

Well things look a lot better from the early days but theres no content so its really hard to judge usability at the moment. You should fly through ticketmaster and tickets.ie for the next couple of months and fill out your database a bit.

Also I think the Yahoo font is really distracting on your logo.. it was the first thing that jumped out at me and not in a good way. Maybe a less recognisable font or a more standard font would be better for that.
