I got a strange phone call to my land line number today asking for me by name. It was from a lady (with a VERY strange British accent)

This is sounding dodgy already! :D

Anyway, she claimed to be doing research for a company called 'Campbell Automotive' and proceeded to ask me what type of commercial vehicle I had, what I used it for etc. For a few seconds I was co-operative, than I copped on and challanged her, said I never did any business with a company of that name and wouldn't be divulging any specific details over the phone.

She IMMEDIATELY hung up, without an explanation, apology or by-you-leave.

I thought it was extremely suspicious and that such a company wouldn't exist. But I see see was either genuine of lifted the name from here:

Does anyone know what this could have been about or experienced something similar?
