Clone of TM Shotguns...?

Just spotted this via the China Airsoft Development thread on arnie's

UTG will be releasing a clone of the TM M3 shotgun, with the 3 barrel system and same shell-loading as the TM, UTG just re-brand clones for the american market, so not sure who is actually manufacturing them yet, ill be keeping an eye out for one though...

Yeah spotted that myself, first shell loading clone shotgun, been waiting for that. It'll be interesting to see who's making it alright and if it'll be able to take TM shells, looks like it can but you can never be sure.

Ok on Shorty USA it says 2.1j but it says its velocity is 275fps with .2g so i'm guessing it would be legal

2.1J COMBINED...but each bb is travelling at 2.1/3...hence the 275fps

and no if you put in 1bb you dont get 2.1J as each barrell still takes one third of the energy...

Spotted these myself yesterday on Arnies - looking good indeed.

The 2.1J is still open to interpretation (admittedly, it's less clear-cut than the gas M500 we were discussing a short while back), same as the laser issue.

* each barrel @ 275FPS (0,7J)
* 3 barrels
* 0.7J x 3 = 2.1J

Firearms Act relates to a barrel discharging a projectile.

The question is, would the 3 barrels (and respective 3 BBs) be interpreted as a single barrel/single projectile under the Act (= not legal), or would the Act be construed litterally (whereby, theoretically, you could own and skirmish a BB minigun with unlimited number of barrels each firing single BB @ 1J)

Whereby we need a "test case" (a first import, and a chat with Customs if & when).

Though the UTG name scares me witless, if the TM-copying by the m'facturer has been as diligent as *say* the TM AEG-copying by the usual suspects (CN clone m'facturers), there's a good chance it'll be identical to the TM one down to the last screw and etching.

I'll skip the Benelli until they release the SPAs (which I really-really want ): they are bound to make it, and probably a few more variations *not made* by TM, now that they've copied the 3-barrel setup.

... though knowing myself, just like the SIG, I'll probably give in to the urge and end up buying a TM weeks before the clone comes out :rolleyes:

Yea saw this on Asi a few days ago and have mixed feelings about it. atleast if the tri nozel or something breaks in my TM then i can harvest 1 of these.

Actually, with path of least resistance you'd probably get crap power out of the one loaded barrel.

nah its about the same with a seperate hop, nozel etc for each barrel, maybe a tad less but not noticable

This looks interesting. I never thought any other manufacturer would bother making the 3 barrel system. I'll be keeping an eye out for reviews of this!

actually Casper just wondering have ya ever seen a tm m3/spas with the shot limiter removed to allow double pumping and 6bb's by any chance?
Its something i might be willing to try on a clone version but i dont know if it would be worth while or not.

That's about the only real source of useful info I've found on the TM M3 shorty. Unless someone has released more in the year or so since i found that page.
There's a little info about multi-salvo with this gun somewhere amongst that page if I remember right. Hope this helps.

my Benelli is currently in bits because a bb got lodged between the tri-nozels and cracked one of em and anytime i do reassemble her another bb will get stuck inside the gun after the second shot. Im not sure if this is because of the slightly cracked nozzel but it seems to be the only damaged part.
