hi everyone, i was wondering if you could help me with something.

Ok, i have had a boyfriend for the last 4 years, in which i love him to bits well most of the time.

Since I told my boyfriend that i have an eating disorder (bulima for 7years) things have not quite been the seem between us, will i guess i can expect this as this is a lot of stress on our relationship.

anyways, since then i have been going through phases where i am confused about my sexuality. When i am going through these phases my feelings dont be as strong for my boyfriend but they soon pass.

The point is i dont know why i keep going through these phases. does this come with the whole eating disorder, is it a fear i always had or is these phases trying to tell me something.

    How will i know?

    anyone experienced anything like this?

    please help...

I'm not being smart, I think you need professional help on these issues because you sound very confused and you shouldn't go through it alone. You need help to sort through these issues properly.

You need to speak with someone who will ask you the right questions so that you can find out the reasons for what is happening.

It's a positive step and I think you'll feel better when you make a start. Do find help. Even call a helpline, maybe they can direct you?

    Good luck.

i am actually getting help. I have been seen a therapist for a year now, which is partly the reason why i seem so confused..

It is the therapy, when it is effective you become confused as you have to face all your issues.

    just need some extra advice...

    thanks though for the reply...

Have you told your therapist that it's confusing you? I don't know what goes on in your therapy, but maybe you can sit down with them and tell them what you told us, if only to set things stright in your own mind. It's easier to talk these things out with someone in front of you than over the internet.

You might also want to talk about it with your boyfriend. You don't have to tell him everything, but it'll put your mind at ease if you can tell him some of your feelings.

Are there any girls in your life that you have feeling for in order to justify how you feel?

Maybe you are looking for some excitment in your relationship?

Do you feel the same way about other fellas?

Does your bf know how you feel?

Would you or have you ever been unfaitfull to him, if so maybe you did like the excitment that you got from that experience and now you want it again, only this time with girls??

no i have no feelings for any girls at all.. just dont know why i am feeling like this.

my boyfriend knows everything about me and my feelings it is a very open realtionship. we share everything.

i have never been unfaithfull nor will i ever be.

    its just so confusing.

where i live, recently there has been a lot of people i know who suddenly became lesbian, im kind of afraid in case i turn lesbian too.

maybe it is the fear that is causing the confusion,,i really dont know...

Lesbianism isn't like the measles, its not catching.

Speak to your counsellor about the mixed up feelings you've been having, he/she is best qualified to help you deal with them.

From your posts you just sound very uncertain about who you are right now. The 'being afraid to turn lesbian' is an expression of that. I have no idea if you are gay, bi or straight, but ease up on yourself. No matter what your sexuality ends up being, its going to be ok. You will hopefully turn out the way that makes you most content.

If you have a problem with food, the poor nutrition can make you a bit fuzzy headed anyway, and add to your confused thoughts. It sounds like your therapy is just going through a hard phase right now, stick with it, and be very open about all the uncertainties with your counsellor. Dont worry too much about fixing everything in one go, it will take time, work on the most difficult issues for you first.

    Good luck. :)
