Aren't play.com extracting the urine a bit by charging €8 versus £5, given that the exchange rate is €1.43 to £1 these days?

But they do still offer free delivery unlike other uk online retailers who are changing their charges

Not only that but the sterling price includes VAT at 17.5%. The euro price doesn't - i.e. a further rip off! I've bought dozens of DVDs from Play over the years, but have gone elsewhere since the new system came in.

It makes sense for them to charge more in euros because delivery is obviously costing them alot more! In fairness like.

The euro prices quoted on the site are inclusive of VAT

So why was it the same price for UK/non-UK for years?

Are you sure? I was under the impression that sterling price includes VAT paid to the UK government at 17.5%. The euro price includes no VAT/duty paid to the Irish government, hence customs seizing packages from Play and charging VAT and duty.
