Hi all,i just booted up my newly delivered komplett pc that they build and installed only to be greeted with a vista screen asking for a username and password.
There is no record of any name or password included with kompletts packaging.
When i rang support they say the only solution is to reinstall vista.

Of i go into bios to set cd/dvd to boot first and restart the machine.
When i boot up it doent boot to dvd first but just brings me to the same login screen.

So it seems i cant get past this screen asking for username and pass.
    wtf can i do?
Komplett say i can send it back but ffs surely i can do something without resorting to sending the machine back?

have you tried administrator as the username and a blank password?

Yeah i tried that, also booted in safe mode [had to use normal keyboard as my g15 would operate] tried to goto administrator and delete account to create a new one as suggested by komplett but when i booted safe mode i couldnt access admin or control panel,is this normal in safe mode?

Im reinstalling operating system at the moment so i hope that sorts it.

is it the windows password, or a bios password?

you can get certain tools to change the windows password off the net. but they are not 100% guaranteed.

lucky you :) komplett should be able to give it to you. if not, then they are responsible and dont even let them charge you for it.

    id demand compensation.

Sounds like a mistake. Their responsibility. I'm sure you have better things to be doing than wasting hrs reinstalling.

Yeah, tell komplett its their mistake, and that you want them to sort it.

Ok thanks guys,i got it sorted,i had to reinstall vista which im well pissed about.
I ran into trouble where i couldnt navigate menues in bios etc with my G15 keyboard, a bog standard keyboard sorted this [thank god]
Ive just installed vista, then my motherboard, chipset, lan, sound, audio drivers.
Also installed avg anti virus and spyware.
Im seriously pissed off with komplett over this, the whole reason for getting them to built a machine was to be able to open the box and play.
Having this hassle was not in the script but hey i seem to be on the right road now, time to install some games.

One big mistake i made was i picked English language but Irish keyboard, atleast thats what i thought.
Now any pop up windows while installing are in irish language, any way to change this ,i really dont want to reinstall again.

Also another problem i have is when i click on "my computer" i only see one of my Samsung spinsoft hard drives, wtf have i done?
I should have 2,i can see 2 in the case however.

Any ideas about the irish text and HD issue guys?

For the hard drive id say have a quick glance in the case and see if its connected. If it is find the vista partition/hard disk manager (somewhere in control panel - administrative tools..) and the second drive should be there as unallocated space. Just assign it as a second hd from there.

Ok im in computer management and see disk 1 as unallocated, what do i do from here?
Sorry for being a noob, just not used to vista at all.

just to edit,i figured it out :)
