Saw it at the weekend and was a little worried I wasn't gonna like it after reading some threads on here on how bad it was etc... but I liked it! I enjoyed it and besides it ending all of a sudden I thought it was good.

I'm not the only one am I?:confused::confused:

Nah I thought it was OK too. Not overly brilliant in fact downright dreadful in relation to characters, cliches and plot but very entertaining. It always seems to do poorly in it's opening weeks though, how do they keep making them??

The first 2 films seem to have made their money back twice over.

Not sure about the latest film - dunno what the production budget was and it doesn't seem to be doing stirling business outside the US.

I think the figures I saw were for UK and Ireland. Maybe it just never really took over here...

I had low expectations going into this, and was surprised to find it was pretty enjoyable. I liked it.

I enjoye dit for what it was, candy for the brain. It was short, fun and did'nt try too hard to be anything other than entertaining. Give it a few months and I can see it being the DVD I stick on when I get home at 4am on a Sunday morning.

I thought it was cringeworthy. I hope the film gods stop letting that joke Anderson put a damper on such a good franchise :(

saw it a month or so ago, was good movie but i felt the same as i did after the 2nd movie. Wanting the next one, the end of the 2nd movie was saying how good the 3rd would be but to me the end of the 3rd just left me thinking how good/OTT the 4th one would be, i hope its not as a long a wait

I really liked it. The Resi movies always seem to have the viewer wanting more, I hope a fourth one comes along soon. Saw a recent interview with Milla and she has either let herslf go or is preggers, so I'm thinkin it's goin to be a long wait till the fourth one.

I did think the crows where very fake looking, but the climax to that scene was very good, I got a shiver down my spine.

Thought Wesker was very weak though, hopefully he'll be in the sequel alot more.

She's preggers, by 'that joke Anderson' as Necromomicon so lovingly put it.
Back to the thread, did exactly what it said on the tin really, an entertaining hour and a half. Though, if there's a sequel they should really move away from Anderson (directed the 1st and wrote them all). My vote goes to Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers), would be bloody genius.

    I was very disappointed.

    I love Apocalypse.

But it just seemed so random and pointless, borrowing heavily from The Birds and Mad Max.

I did like the scene in Vegas under the desert though.

A post-apocolyptic world overun with zombies.
    so much potential
    barely used.

The tyrant was killed way too fast.

Resident Evil 4 is well underway when at the end you had all the ...oh you know what I mean

Maybe it is just me but did
the prospect of the next movie featuring numerous Mila's not make anyone else groan? And not in pleasure.

    Ditto.
I thought it was a good popcorn flick. Riddled with crap but ultimatly enjoyable.

I agree that it is a defecation of the RE name but the second was the only movie to have anything to do with the games.

    Does she get nude again?

That was probably the only good thing about the first movie.

Yep...just liek the previous movies...Milla Jovovich is naked at some point.

    It wasn't the worst.

Enjoyable enough. People should NEVER have expectations for videogame adaptions.

awful, awful, awful and i liked the first two of these, they were both ok movies as long as you didn't expect them to be exactly like the games. But RE3 was possibly the worst movie of 2007, no screw that it was the worst movie of 2007 along with Mr Bean's Holiday

i saw plane dead and planet terror (both new zombie flicks) the same week as RE3 and they have RE3 beat in every category.

i liked it. i dont really count them as horror films as theyre more action oreinted. ive never actually been afraid of the zombies in RE even though the games freaked me out. if i was to point to a video game movie that came off well in the way RE shouldve done it'd be silent hill but at this stage in the game a RE film that didnt just deliver more of the same would probably tank.

im memory serves the bloke that directed highlander did this one and in all fairness the film looks great. there's certainly some nice nods to the first two film but if ive one complain there didnt seem to be an evolution of the baddies. all the zombies gathering around the desert base did look cool but i was hoping for more licker types, even if they were originals that wernt in the games, but no.

the tyrant didnt really make an impression on me. it was a class fight at the end, particularly the TK bits, but he just didnt have the impact the nemisis had. in fact i was kinda hoping he'd still be knocking about somewhere. or someone like him but again, no.

dont get me wrong i dont want to imply i didnt enjoy it i just wished there was more in it. still at least ive got AvP2 to look forward to :D they showed the add for it in the trailers and it looks a hell of alot better than the first one. the tension and horror in it are way up on the original bringing in some of the fear the originals of both franchise brought us. in fact it took me a while to figure out what the film was as it opened looking like a story about small town america with a female soldier coming home and i was half expecting some film about the iraq war and its effect on returning GIs then took a huge turn. could be hope yet :D

You really shouldn't compare RE3 to anything.

We all knew it would suck to some degree so theres no point comparing it to something else making it look even worse.

Planet Terror was great. Much better than Deathproof.
