Hey all, My brother is currently in the states and has picked up an Olympus E510 (twin lens kit) for me. Now I will need a case for it. I was looking on the lowe-pro site and like the look of the slingshot case anyone have any advice on this, Ive looked through the stickies and there isnt a whole lot on Camera cases. So what do you think is a good case, and would it be cheaper for him to pick up a case there for me or just buy one online meself?

    Cheers

You'll find a lot of people would recommend the Slingshot series. I've had both the 100 and 200, and they're both fantastic. As always, it depends on what you will be carrying in it, but I can get my camera+lens, zoom lens, 50mm lens, flash and other bits on bobs with room still left over in my 200...

Well im only a beginner, so all I will have is the body and the two lenses for a while. I will be getting a flash down the line also and then a few other bits and bobs.

I've a 510 twin lens kit plus a few other bits and bobs and a slingshot 200 which I find it ideal, plenty of space in there and much more comfortable than a shoulder bag.

I would reckon it will be cheaper there and your brother can use it to bring back the camera.

Good stuff, I liked the idea of it from the start.

I'm a beginner and i've got the Slingshot 200 (but I paid £69, ripped off )

It's just right for my body and my 2 lenses, and I could fit in another, it should last me for a good while. Good quality and easy to use too, with a waterproof cover that covers the whole bag which will be handy this winter :)

    Hi,

I have just bought the E-510 too. I was waiting for the camera to arrive, so I decided to buy the case for it. I got it in pixels for €50, in Dublin city center. It is a lowe pro Nova AW 2. It is not an absolute snug fit, but it is a nice size for the camera and spare lens. It will take another lens, but prob not a flash. I have CF multi-case and charger confortably in the bag. Nice size, weatherproofed, would recommend. Could be smaller for just camera and 2 lens, needs to be bigger for flash..

see komplett link for exact details: http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=322100

    regards,
    Ciaran

Got the E510 a month or two ago and it's living in a Lowepro trekker classic when I'm doing something big as it's got the E300's battery grip modded to fit. But then the rest of the time it's in a Lowepro TLZ1 with the 14-54mm.

Was quite shocked to see the size weight of the new kit lenses the only downer is the plasitc mounts.

If it's an Olympus just get a bag from Tesco's, 15c. Can't go wrong.

Oriel how much are you looking for the 200?

You might also check out the Crumpler bags. Carry a decent amount of kit and don't look like camera bags, handy if you don't necessarily want to advertise the fact that you are carrying 2 grands worth of equipment

Ah sure - support home grown products - Dunnes all the way (none of your fancy Superquinn stuff thank you very much!)
