    Hey Guys,

Just got a cold sore .... not too bothered, you know, annoying but ahh well. Anyway, i was reading up about them and supposedly most people only get a cold sore once in there lives :eek::eek:and some never at all , and it also said that a minority is unfortunate to have cold sores frequently....

Now I dont know about the mad man who wrote that article, but I thought I was just the average guy who gets a cold-sore-a-year:D, I knew already a small number of people never get them but I thought most people do get them and not just oncein there lives

So, Just tell me quick , Do you get many cold sores ? if any  That article couldn't have been right

    Barry.

The virus concerned, herpes simplex, doesn't just go away once you've become infected. It lies dormant in the nerve roots and then attacks again usually when your body's defences are low. It's a similar mechanism that it's cousin herpes zoster uses to cause shingles AFAIK. Anyway, I usually get about one a year, in exactly the same place every time.
