According to Boxrec Duddy is fighting Pavlik in January.

I think it's a bad idea at this stage. I like John but I think he gets hit too much and too easy, Pavlik will KO him before the 6.

It hasn't been confirmed yet. I get a press release on all the fight accouncements, so it's definately not 100% official. Duddy even claimed it last night.

Boxrec had that down before last night , nothing has been confirmed and won't be for another while .

Either we get Pavlik v Taylor II in the new year or we get Pavlik v Duddy .
It's as simple as that .

That will be a massacre. You cant prepare for a world title fight by fighting the likes of Prince Aaron.

I would really really love it to see Duddy do well though. Seems a really nice bloke, so easy to warm to compared to Dunne..but having said that does he really have the talent to become a world champion? Pavlik is a pretty handy fighter.

Love to see him winning aswell but can't see it
macklin is a better fighter and he lost a fight for a british title,so a fight against him would be good

You can't blame him for taking the fight but it will be a swift execution. I don't think he is good enough to beat any of the current titleholders in this division.

The lad will have a slim chance if it goes ahead-he'll just have to try and outbox pavlik, he might shock a few people! most people here never even knew pavlik till he beat taylor..

He's not capable of outboxing Pavlik , he doesn't have the defense , physique or general skill to do so . His chance lies on catching Pavlik on the way in .
Pavlik himself can be hit and can be hurt , although he does have a decent enough chin .

One thing that was notable about the Duddy v Arron fight was that Duddy didn't seem to like the height and reach disadvantage at all and that it will prove a major problem against a better fighter . If you combine this with Duddy's love of eating right hands it means he simply can't outbox Pavlik and will have to out fight him(equally as difficult a task) .

I knew who Pavlik was before Taylor , but thought Taylor's skill would be enough for him to win a close decision.........it wasn't and Taylor has a great defense and chin .

I knew who Pavlik was before Miranda , that's why I picked him to win , and at that time a hell of a lot of people thought Miranda was this unstoppable creature(without what they perceived to be unjust reffing and judging) almost mythical and untameable . But I wasn't surprised at all with what Pavlik did to Miranda , it was just business as usual .

Now if John Duddy can beat Pavlik with the game a much more skillful , taller(with better reach) and defensively adapt fighter couldn't with I will give all my money to Trocaire or some other charity organisation . But if Duddy can catch Pavlik , hurt him and then finish him(because the one thing Duddy has over Taylor is he's a better finisher and possibly hits a little harder in the first place) , the almost impossible but just about achievable will have happened .

That's not true. I had heard of him before he fought Miranda. I thought he was capable of beating of Miranda but i was surprised when he beat Taylor.
Anyway, Duddy doesn't have a chance of beating of Pavlik.
When a silky and physicially stronger fighter like Taylor gets beaten by Pavlik what chance does a weaker guy who walks into right hands from a big hitter have? Very little in my view.

yeah , with such a lack of coverage on our screens, we cant really have a decent gauge on fighters .
boxrec and youtube are great for brushing up on a fighter , but i believe youtube are trying to cut out all copyright material permently... would be such a shame.
But i do believe that if the internet wasnt around then nobdy would have an iota who pavlik was, not a name that makes the sport columns on any national newspapers !!!!

I think coverage is really poor in papers, mag's, tv news etc.
now I gamble a lot and i also notice how little financial trading happens within boxing betting. Bopxing was a massive wagering event through tradition (maybe not all legit) , but outside of vegas , the interest just isnt there from the general public.

i know few boxing fans , but i know loads of people who hate the sport.
Boxing's mis-understood ... and Im going to start blaming that ufc and mma for enhancing boxing's reputation as a bloodsport.

Duddy's only chance of beating pavlik is by outboxing him and landing a few big shots, pavlik would eat him in a toe to toe fight, those who know duddy from the amateur's could tell you that duddy is well able to box intelligently and has decent power too-i think he gets caughht too much because he tries to hard to fight like the pro's, i said he had a chance not that he'd win.

all the people writing that they knew pavlik before, i obviously was not writing about you then.:p
