virus's in PC ,, need some help

Hi,

Turned on the PC this morning and i'm getting pop ups all over the place. there is also a "Security Toolbar" installed that i didnt install !!


I've taken some screen shots and placed them here www.davidstokes.com/_errors

I've ran spybot Search and destory. Also did a housecall scan, they are still popping up.

I'm getting windows popping up to sites like

Ive ran Hijackthis but not to sure that to delete. I've attached a copy below.

have you tried uninstalling the toolbar?

Try downloading and running the MCAfee Stinger also.

i cant uninstall it. Cos i cant find it, Ive no idea how it got installed.

I'm running stinger now.

The pop ups are getting worse...

That SMIT fraud fix usually does the job, had to deal with this before, if not,put in your windows cd and reinstall...all your stuff will be saved....kinda weird cause i though the reinstall would delete everything but it works

1 way to disable the toolbar, is to disable all third party addins in IE.. Click Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and uncheck Enable Third Party addins

This will disable the toolbar from running. We can do this as a last resort. Try the following

The file that is the toolbar is albbvxvn.dll, its in O3. Delete that one at least!! Just close IE, rerun HiJackThis and then fix that one.

Next thing, verify that the file is gone from the System32 directory.

Delete everything in the Windows Temp dir.. to make sure that it cant come back that is.
Reboot and log back in.

Check to see that the toolbar is gone. Do another hijackthis and post again just to verify.

You may need to clean the restore points as well

Have you tried running the hijack tool in safe mode...
