adding brake to dropbar

hi, i have a roadbike with dropbars but as i use it a lot in the city i was thinking it would make more sense to have a brake lever on the top of the bar rather than on the drops. does anyone know if this is an easy thing to add on. i have seen some single speed bikes with bmx style levers which look to do the trick. anyone know anything about this and how much it would cost? also would it be very expensive to swap the drops completely for hybrid style bars etc. thanks:D

For city use i would advise changing from drop bar to straight bar. But this can cos a few quid. You need the following thing to change from the drop bars:
    • New Handlebar
    • Brake Levers
    • Gear Shifters
    • Full Set of brake and gear cables
    • Grips

May also need a new stem depending on what you got, and what handlebars they you get.

I think you would be looking at around 100-130 euro in total for the parts.

This price is based on basic parts. Not sure cos dont know what setup you are running

Probably recommend an integrated lever/shifter which incorporates the brake lever and gear shifter. Also make sure you get the full length levers as the smaller ones will give to much pull for them type of brakes.

The shifter I would probably say to get similar to the ones shown below. Not sure on compatibility with campaq, maybe someone else can clarify that. But these are perfect for flat bar.
