OK heres the scenario. See the image below. Playing the qualifier for the Sunday Million. Almost 4 hours in and we're down to the last 24 from 342 players and sitting 2nd in chips.

I've been in this position quite a few a few times and just wondering what way people play from here. Shortly after this, i lose with 88 v QQ and then AQ v AK.. and now i just stole the last pot on the bubble with A10s.

So my question is should you just sit out and not play any hands whatsoever.
    Play premium hands only.
Bully the table, which is what way i tend to play but gets me into trouble as above. As far as the bubble goes, see image below and do you now play any hands or just sit out and hope a shortie goes before you

Raise AA KK QQ AK and call allins with all of these.however if some guy has you covered i may fold ak to an all in. if a shorty pushes id call with AQ JJ-99.. Otherwise id just sit out.

    Play premium hands
I sit & wait, two lowest stacks can't cover the next BB/SB so hopefully one of them will get knocked out.

    What happened anyway

    Mostly what Ian said.
But its going to be a long difficult bubble so you probably can't sit out completly so the right answer is a mixture of all three - 70% sitting back...and no hurry big blinds help you, the rest of the time playing premium hands in position and against the stacks that can't do you too much harm.
Not to get a seat from here would be criminal, its so completly different from missing a final table of a cash tourney from this position.

I'm off travelling this week so I might play a few EPT satts online before I do I'll re read this article.

if you have the stack to coast - there is zero point in getting involved coz all that can change is that you loose!

is that your granny on your desktop??

a lot of the skill in these things is figuring out when you have enough chips to coast into the money. People get it wrong (both ways) and that's why supersats can be so profitable.

as lloyd said, in first scenario, just wait for huge hands, one of two sets of blinds and u are good to go, in the 2nd scenario, with 88k and 2 shorties, really no point/need to get involved at all.

    Play premium hands
Textbook wargames situation. The only winning move is not to play.
Fold everyhand. Including AA. The only exception to this is the two shorties BBs, where the whole table should call ATCs.
You have a B ratio of +4/1 here. Any B above 1 is gettign to sit out time. The ICM in satellites is an even bigger factor due to the flat payout which seriously affects equity in $$ terms.

Sitting out you last maybe 40 hands. A player is more likely to go out in this time, than your chances of surviving by playing.

Tony, in the top scenario you can't click the sit out button. You need to stay and play premium hands.

In the second situation you can click the sitout button.
Im not sure, but I think the "first situation" is only posted to show how he was stacked earlier in the tourney. And he isn't really asking on what to do in that spot.

The top scenario is there for a reason. I posted the screenshots so that there's a visual of where we are. I was up to 180k the hand previous, raised with QQ and called a push and lost to KQ

I then called a shorties push from the BB with 88 and lost and then lost AQ v AK. Dropped down to 28k but back to 80k after a dodgy push with A10 into the sorties BB.

So top scenario, 2nd in chips...QQ if i push KQ folds but i want to give myself a chance to fold should a bigger stack push. I should then let 88 and AQ go preflop. Bottom senario, i sat out and let AK go.

I think i need to tone down on the aggression the closer i get to the button.

One of the shorties busted soon after
