Next Monday the 22nd of October, the UCC Philosophical Society will be having a debate entitled "That This House Believes That Religion Has No Place in the Modern World". Supporting the proposition will be Professor Peter Atkins, while John Waters will be in opposition. Starts at 7.30pm in Kane G19.

    Oh joy, John Waters

Can't stand that fella  Hope it's good anyway!

There was a 'god' debate in UCD a few weeks ago. Dan Barker from Freedom From Religion spoke at it (4 other guest speakers but not as well known I dont think). Was crap tbh :(

Trinity also had a debate about the role of the Catholic church, just a few days ago actually. Heard about it on Newstalk... would be interested to know if it was any good.

FYI, the debate in UCD was absolutely jammers, so there's certainly an interest...
