Well whether its Christine in Tekken, Orchid in Killer Instict or Sareena in Mortal Kombat, eye candy rules when you're beating the sh1t out of bad guys!

played Lukes tonight, very good game with plenty of structure... got really unlucky when we were down to 5 handed - i pick up QQ utg and make it 10k [blinds 2/ 4 k ante 400] Willie [solskjare] on the button shoves for 42k with 1010 so i obviously call leaving myself with 16k or something. anyways i taught i had it in the bag when the river brings a 10...
so i fold my bb next hand with rubbish, next hand i get A5 / guy on button min raises it to 8k and i shove - he insta calls with A6, i was sure it was going to be a split pot but NO no - his kicker comes into it and thats all she wrote... just got my money back for 7 hours of play, a bit sick but enjoyed the game.
sure now i'll just have to win the 300 game tomorrow in Lukes....:p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Flushdraw

Yeah Wes that was a sickner of a hand. If you win that, you have 100k with a couple of fish left in down to the last 4. Would have been almost 2k in the bag.

I hope Willie takes it down. My own tale of woe was that KK not good against Jj AIPF then pushed over Willies button raise with A7..I knew he was commited and called with KJ...K on the river and that was that. Very enjoyable game though

i'd say they'll do a deal as they were talking deals before i left.... Yeah i hope Willie get the better end tho as he was by far the best player left..

UL with your hand also Tony, J on the river....

chopped 3 ways down the middle,

Cheers lads.....glad you two went out as the path was easier then.

the rude chap looking for the chop went out in 4th :)
when we got to 3 handed Donal suggested we take 1k each and give Ronaldo the 1300. I was just a little bit the shortest stack but I refused. A straight chop or nothing...ronaldo says no , so we play on, he loses a big pot to Donal, Donal then had a nice lead. Then Donal suggested to chop 3 ways he was too tired to go on (nice lad btw) I agree of course. due to the time Would have preferred to play out but it was 5.30:eek:

Sorry about the sukout Wes but for the last 4 final tables ive been in I been dogged out...pity it was you as you were playing very controlled poker.
I must also commend you on your compusure when that lad was pig ignorant and confrontational to you. A few boyz need a lesson in manners I think. (gutter comments with women at the tables)

my weekend pass continues to Luke 300 games tomorrow....so far a good 2 days...cant go to bed now as Ive to bloody drop someone to the airport in 2 hours......:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Flushdraw

WP Willie. Dont know if Donal is a boardsie. Had a feeling you be around for the last 3 and felt a chop of some sort was on the cards.

Strange sort of night alright. 2 or 3 confrontational moments and some sick sick slowrolling. You could also fill the whole "why more women dont play poker" thread from the sh1t that came out of some of the mouths at the table!

GL tomorrow incase i dont make it in, although i should be there about 330 for a couple of sats

    WP Lads,
Enjoyable tourney, despite a bit of unnecessary handbags. A bit sick to be going home after 4AM with nothing to show:rolleyes:
There was one race I failed to win that would have made all the difference on the FT, then trying to steal off Donal's KK was bad enough but it was probably a good thing that I shoved my few remaining chips in from the BB with Q9o thinking I might have live cards against Willies min(ish) raise -he has AA and a couple of Aces on the flop make my shove look even more retarded. But the good thing was that everyone could see what a sick card rack he is and that he wasn't ever going to be beaten last night :D

my 1st ever poker of As and I pick up your misrable stack ..:( Unluckly there:)
got about 7 pocket pairs in 8 hours so i guess for me this is extreme good luck :) the structure is superb and it's also a killer for value. Dont plan anything for Saturday morning though..

howver the 1500 early bird chips is exteme, I lost my 1st bit pot after 10 minutes and was behind by the +1500 to the early birds. 500 is enough IMO.

I really like Lukes place and staff but I will stop playing there if these ignorant morans arent nipped in the bud. I'm not sure i have Wes's patience so I could end up breaking a fingernail.

    wtf with Celtic today?

had to think about that one Donal (doh) yep that was me. GG I was enjoying the finish..pity it got so late and we had to chop, probably cost you some euro.

edit on 2nd thoughts no that wasnt me..Im confused onw.

WP Donal. I think you need to be a bit more aggressive when shorthanded. I didnt see you put too many chips in the pot at the FT and i watched it from 6 handed for about an hour.

You were healthy stacked but were dwindling as the game went on. WP on the finish though. Good result.

Yeah Willie. The old Wes would have ripped your mans head off. Thats why he had to walk away from the table and cool down

tell me fish didnt get in on this chop, heard he was still in 6 handed

yea its one of my weakness - can't play shorthanded at all - anytime we get down to the last 3/4/5 of a tournament, a chop is always done and as u point out i'm not aggressive - i always agree to the chop.... when 3 handed i got it aipf(technicaly) with A10 V ronanldo's 22 for a pot of about 160 or so i think, so i figured then if i suggested a 3 way split everyone would agree, thankfully they did, since i wasn't just tired - also hungry....

Yeah that was me. I was sitting down the end of the table watching the FT for 45 mins or so and left with Wes.

played this for the first time on Friday - went out 10th, just before the FT. I'm sure I played a few hands with some of you guys but haven't got around to matching names with faces. Went out when my two pair was topped by a very well played flopped set of 8's.

Great structure and a very tough field.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 375 ✭✭kebabfest

Really enjoyable tourney. I think for the price it is possibly the best structured tourney out there in the moment. I think there was about 40 runners on friday ( correct me if I am wrong). If it could get up to 80 it really would be a belter.
Who many runners did the 300 game get ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

35 runners for the 300 game, bit of a dissapointing turnout but theres a lot on at the moment.

Kebabfest did you go out early on the final table with AK v 88?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,956 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

If there were 80 runners of a friday - with the exact same structure, the game would go on for hours imo, since with 39 there last week it finished at 5:30 when a deal was done 3 ways...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

There were 65 the previous week and it finished earlier than this week.
