Vinyl vs cast iron weights

    Hi.
I'm new to this fitness thing and i was hoping someone might help me.
I want to get a couple of dumbells cheaply to add to my barbell and cast iron weights at home.

Argos do a pair of Vinyl dumbells (15kg) for about 20 euro.
They also do a pair of cast iron dumbells (20 kg) for about 40 euro.
I was thinking of getting the vinyl ones and save my self a few quid.

But if i get the vinyl weights will i be able to combine them with my cast iron weights on my barbell at home and vice versa? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but as i say i'm new to this.

And are there any other disadvantages of vinyl weights compared to cast iron.

Any advice would be great. :)
