    Someone had to ask...

given this guys track record, can anyone tell me why he is still being rostered as an International ref?

Who knows...maybe it's just to make up the numbers of refs from each major country (plus the fact that his country mate Paddy O'Brien is head of the IRB's referee panel can't do any harm).

If I remember he wasn't given any games for a few months after the controversy with Shaggy during the Lions tour in NZ and then he had the bust up with Dave Reddin during the last world cup.

He is selected base on his performance from previous matches (even if he was punished for his incidents) and selection for neutrality.

That is the reasons why Waynes Barnes, Jonathan Kaplan and Tony Spreadbury were not selected for third and fourth play-offs.
