Thats a neat idea. We should do something like that here. Have a compo every week to pick a picture with the purpose of having everyone else pile in and try and muck it up in a variety of interesting, bizarre and inspiring ways.

I notice that a lot of people use a technique, in which they brighten the centre and darken the edges, it seems kinda dull when people do that, not sure what effect it's supposed to have, anyone wanna explain?

oh yeah, off topic, i like this idea, it's worth a shot.

i see that technique used all the time, and it's getting tired.

Ummm... it trailed off a bit when there were people complaining about monkeys being pasted into the sky I think.

I can be tricky to find a shot that has the potential to be processed in plenty different ways. The one in the blog there is a good example because it's nice and simple and leaves quite a lot of scope for processing.

If anyone has a shot that they think would be suitable, by all means, start a 'pimp my shot' thread in the digital darkroom, post a link to the largest version of the original pic, and people can fire away as they wish... if we have a good few entries we can set up a poll for voting.

Vignetting? No wonder it's tired, it's been there since the very first photograph was taken way back in the 1820/30's.
I'm guilty of throwing in the odd bit from time to time. Although it's normally something I'd avoid.

If I may be so bold as to speak out of turn my liege, it's in your grasp to seize the shot pimpage by the jugular and banish from the kingdom those that seek to do it injustice with their flying monkeys and other such vile chicanery.

sorry, been watching alot of 'Tudors' recently...
