    Hi,

Anyone know if I'll have any problems taking a Nikon D50 into Croker tomorrow? Would like to try a few snaps from the stand..

I dont see why not, I was at the Police concert a few weeks back and I could have had my whole kit bag with me.

It's not the camera that draws attention, it's the lens.
For the most part, you should be ok.
I got stopped going into the Stade de France for a football game & they confiscated my 75-300mm, giving me a "cloakroom" ticket. They had no problem with the camera & kit lens though.

Don't forget to post your pictures so that we can all see them.
The last competitive home game for Steve Staunton will be well documented.

Did you get your lens back?

Yeah, after queuing for about 20 minutes.
Not because there were other people in the queue, but because the stewards were too busy talking.

i'm going myself , gave up on the boys after Stans crazy decisions, but they seam to playing with a bit of pride now !

Anyway nothing on the back of the ticket about camera restrictions, unlike the red bull bike thing in slane .

No problem, even with a 400mm.

    One from last saturday...

Would you not consider cropping all that space out of the left there, covey?

I'd consider anything and all advice is much appreciated.

Will give it a go at home.

Maybe a bit tight in the frame though! Will see.

    T.

Tight frame is better for action shots.
Check out the sports section of any paper.
You want the action to dominate the frame.

I brought my 400D and the girlfriend brought her 40D to the game and nothing was said. The guards just asked to open up the bags so they could see what was inside. I took the camera to Turners Cross last night but where I was sitting wasn't ideal for taking photos so didn't bother taking any.

ach, sure.... you could bring your camera and two spare lenses - hold onto your camera and place one spare lens on the seat to one side of you, the other on the seat at the other side....... and in fact you could put your feet on the seat in front of you - quite a few spare seats there folks! ;o)

I hope all photographers brought lots of filters as there must have been many red faces there this evening.

And of course a lot of ****e on the pitch

Yeah! All he kept saying was "Pick it up" Pick it up!" Hmm. He should never have been put in that position, it's unfair on him.

C'mon Peadar, you must have a few more of that headless chicken Robbie with his hands on his head after missing more sitters.......
