Dairy Milk advert and the Gorilla

    It's quite well done isn't it. Why wife thinks it's a real gorilla. :rolleyes:

    It's not , is it?? I mean, wouldn't it put the drum sticks straight through the drum skins and probably the drum as well.

    Nah... not real. :)

    I love that ad. It's definately not a real gorilla:D The look of concentration on the gorilla's face is fantastic. Whoever is responsible for this ad is a genius.

    I can only watch that ad with the sound muted, really cannot stand Phil Collins. With a song i could stand it would be pretty cool.

    Haha, you :rolleyes: at the thoughts of your wife thinking it's a real Gorilla and then ask yourself!

    But anyway, yeah it is real Gorilla and he's called Gerald. He was on Parkinson last week talking about his career as an Actor and a Session Musician. I don't have a clip of the interview but here's one he done a good few years ago.

    Without clicking on it I know that this is the clip from Not the Nine O'Clock News, isn't it :) Rowan Atkinson as Gerald the Gorilla and Mel Smith as the Professor :)

    On-topic, I love the ad. The longer version is better than the shorter version. While I don't particularly like Phil Collins that song is perfect for the ad.

    It's a completely and utterly bizarre ad, struggle to remember what it's actually for really... (I know it's dairy milk because of the thread title...)

    I like it though, even if (in my eyes at least) it's failed as an advert for the product (apparently chocolate...)

    Are you sure about that?

    I was in the pub on Sunday and Sky Sports was on in the background and the ad was played about 8 billion times.

    No it definitely hasn't been pulled, I saw it last night :)

    It reminds me of the claim that UK banks can't use the image of a piggybank because it offends Muslims. That's not true either, I see plenty of images of Piggybanks over here and Ant & Dec even have a giant piggybank on their Saturday Night Takeaway show :).
