chewing gum with tattoo

anyone remember these - it was a rectangular block of chewing gum with a 'tattoo' inside. You wet/licked your arm and put the tattoo on but it always turned out as a blue/red smudge. I can remember what the tattoo were supposed to be - possibly robots or Captain America and his enemies??

Ah wow yeah. i remember them... used to go down to the shop to get them every day

I think they were called "Happy Tattoo Bubble Gum" ... the tattoos lasted about 20 minutes, and then turned into an amorphous blob of bleary ink.

The tattoos were of animals and flowers, as I recall ... nothing too racy!

Oooo.. were they called Bazooka? I think they were the little blocks in a blue wrapper and the tattoo wrapped round the gum..

Some of them were awful hard to remove! Some skin nearly removed from my arm.

I remember Bazooka Joe, which came with a tiny three frame comic strip ... I don't think it was a tattoo, at least not by design

Yes, that's what I remember. Wasn't the wrapper yellow with pink gum and the little cartoon inside?

The tatoos came in a different one.

Yip! Wrapper was blue/red/yellow with pink gum, defo came with comic strip not a tattoo ... linkeh www.geocities.com/.../images/wrappers_small.jpg

Can't find any conclusive proof of the tattoo chewing gum ... yet :rolleyes:

Yeah I remembered that - the gum was red in colour and strawberry flavour and the flavour went pretty quickly. Not as god as hubba bubba for big bubbles but the tatoo was cool. If you didnt have water you d use a load of spit to get the tatoo off but then only parts of the tatoo would sometimes come off the paper !

Yeah, the tattoo would kinda crumble up on your arm, so it came off in little bits, rather than one piece.

I remember those. the ones I got were the 'bad boy' tattoo's. they made it look (badly) like you has shít stuck in your arm like blades and such

I remember some pink rectangular chewing gum but the wrapper was purple and had some sort of chinesey type art tattoo

the chewing gum was that really nice strawberry (not as nice as hubba bubba) but the taste only lasted for about 5 mins!!
