Sky+ Installation

    Just a quick question, is the insatllation of a sky plus box the same as for a standard sky box. Can I just remove the standard box and plug in the sky plus box, or is there more cables and things to be run?

    If your current sky dish has a single LNB this will need to be changed to a 'Quad Sky LNB. Two of the outputs are then used, so a second cable is required (good quality, CT100/WF100/H109 or similar spec sat cable).Also, the extra weight of the quad LNB can sometimes cause the arm of the dish to dip very slightly. Not normally a problem on a well aligned dish, but on one that is already borderline it could be.

    it's a guide on how to install sky+ ...more to it than replacing the box...

    does anyone know the answer to this one?
    if a person has free to air... with a standard sky box... and they get a sky+ box... will it record those free to air stations or is it just the subscription stations that record?
    eg. itv2, bbc4... those free stations... :confused:

    Only stations on a subscription epg will record.
