    Hey there,

I'm planning to buy a flatbad scanner to scan old family photos, I have a budget of 150 euro(ex shipping)

I was wondering if there is anyone here that knows things about scanners?

Also the scanning dpi, is there a much difference really in the quality? betweek say 4800x9600dpi and 3200x9600?

So, what I have picked is this one,

It's exactly on top of my budget and from the look at the settings, looks good.

Are epson any good with scanners?

I bought one of these in PCWorld for €35 & it has five one touch buttons for easy scanning, printing, copying, emailing & one that is configurable by the user (I use it for Faxing)

    http://www.pcworld.co.uk/product.php?sku=978175

The quality is excellent & it is ideal for photos. (Driver available from their site for Vista too)

It was the best bang for buck I got in a long time.

    I couldn't fault it.
