I read this forum every day, thought it was finally time to say something. Pictures from UCD Marian VS St. Paul's Killarney this evening. There are a few more on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/danjhayden/

anyway, let me know what you think!

Good shots considering that the lighting must have been fairly crap.

OOo thats the UCD indoor court right? I'd recognise those bricks anywhere :) I was a naoimh mhuire girl.. ah the memories...

Could you maybe post higher res shots? Those are horribly pixelated.

Thank you valencia, yeah,it was pretty awful- I had to shoot at 3200, they were moving so fast.

SineadW, give me a couple of minutes, I'll try: I wanted to avoid the horrible "forum resize"- and yes, it's UCD alright.

High iso because of the low lighting and fast movement gives you grain...nothing you can do about that!

    Nice shots BTW!

Yes, I know that, but they're Image Width: 851 pixels X Image Height: 1024 pixels according to the exif data on flickr...

I think the ones that are up now are better quality than the links that were up before, hope they're ok. SineadW, you're right- every other picture I have on my flickr is a nice High res but the noise was so bad with these i decided to just upload them medium resolution (honestly, I didn't want anyone looking at the large ones, they're horrible) That last ISO bump from 1600-3200 kills pictures. I personally don't mind the grain for these ones though, I think it kind of goes with the look I was trying to get. Thanks everyone for the comments.

...and I'm 12 and shouting for team roadspeed again :D Are they even in existence anymore??

    And yep - great shots!

I'd be tempted to turn to B&W then? Or is that too obvious?

I do like the originals. If they're for web medium you'd 100% get away with it.

    could be interesting in B&W

and if you could do it with PS, in B&W and the ball retains it colour

I have two college essays due in next week but I might have a go at the black and white after that, I agree it could be quite cool- nice high contrast maybe. I'm sure the last shot would look good in B&W but not sure about the others. Selectove colorisation never did it for me I'm afraid...

    Good action shots.
A lot of people, moving quickly in a confined space, can't be easy to work with.
Could you use a wider aperture?

Have you tried Noiseware Pro from Imagenomic.com? It is terrific for cleaning up noise in high ISO images. I use it all the time for basketball action shots. You can see a few examples here:
