You wont get into Trim Castle for a wedding as it is a National Monument and is owned and run by the state. I used to work there. You could however write to them in advance and seek permission to get some photos taken but it is a bit of a process that has certain restrictions and you would have to produce your own insurance etc. If you want a castle, best go for a privately owned one as I dont think they will let you within a sniff of it for such an occasion to be honest.

    hi

if ur referring to the trim castle hotel....i am in a band and we played a wedding there a few weeks ago.....firstly the hotel is absolutely beautiful...id say its fairly new because it is in flawless condition....the rooms are very very nice too.....i tihnk they were 209/night but im sure if u were booking a wedding ud get a bulk discount or something......

as for the reception room...its called the great hall...again...very bright during the day and nice balcony/smoking section with perfect scenic view of the castle itself and nearby church....

how many ppl are going to be at your wedding? the wedding i played had about maybe 150-180 people and to be honest the room was wayyyy to big for a wedding of that size.....once the music started, I felt that it was a room that was very hard to get an atmosphere going in, becuase it was simply too big... so my advice would be to not book it unless ur having a party of at least over 200...

all in all though.....its an absolutely stunning place to have a wedding dinner/reception...havent a clue how much it costs or anything but if it was a similar price to other hotels, i would definitely preference this particular place.

hope that's a help to you anyway....best of luck in wherever you choose :p

    ...and congratulations!

Jonnykitedude, I did a 30th birthday party there a few months back, I was in a smaller room near the bar. I think that would be too small, but I know they have other rooms available. My G/F loved it and we said I bet they are booked solid for weddings! Apparently when you have the function room upstairs there is a balcony you can have photos taken with the castle in the background. Check the website and there are some pics there http://www.trimcastle.ie

We asked how much it was to spend a night, and nearly died! zildjian1 is about right, I think the cheapest was about 200E per night, but again you might get a different price for a wedding. There are other castles like clontarf that has just had a facelift, but having played there, I would go for trim as it is more impressive. HTH
