Never mind the RTE contest

That would be a real challenge, as the only way at the moment that Irish people can participate is by making Ireland the 51st state of the USA or ask the Queen to take the 26 counties back (an all that by October 31st).
Looks like a typical uninformed American contest. They allow all English speaking countries (US, Canada without Quebec, UK, New Zealand and Australia), but not Ireland.

You're clearly tryin to kill off the competition - for the RTE competition! :p

Sh1t, why aren't we (Ireland) on the list of eligible countries??? That makes no sense.:(

I've emailed them and will let ye know if I get any word.

Because we're freestate socialist bastards. Or something.

I'm kidding, obviously, but that seems to be a pretty bizarre condition alright.

There you are, I should never drink and post, it was the shock of England beating France that did for me really.

makes me think of IIB Bank.

Their addrress is given as Sandwith Street (near Holles Street) as it is at the junction of Sandwith Street and FENIAN street.

Apparently they felt using FENIAN street as their address would cause them problems elsewhere !

    And it says:

Thank you for contacting the National Geographic Society.

For a variety of reasons, some countries were not included in this year's
contest. We hope to make next year's contest more widely available.

Thank you for your interest in the National Geographic Society and its
    work.

    Sincerely,
    Julie Crain
    National Geographic Society

    I'll bite... :)

You could also ask why Singapore wasn't added to the list either (English being their official language although many speaking mandarin Chinese too).
