Yes and No, depending on your location and various other factors including what aerial you're on about.

THis is a satellite forum, not for aerial discussion, so I'm moving it to Terrestrial forum.

Avoid the ones with built in amplifiers.

    For UHF:

    For VHF

    £10

More expensive or amplified indoor aerials often work less well. To get better put the indoor aerials in the attic with one satellite coax to connect back to TV. The Coax can be poked through the tarred cloth and under a roof tile to fall down outside back of house.

if that is not good enough then an outdoor aerial is needed.
Sometimes a window sill aerial is better than attic depending on direction transmitter and material of roof.

To combine VHF & UHF aerials in attic or at back of TV use a Y splitter or a UHF/VHF Duplexer

or one of these with cable at back of plate going to TV:

The DTT stuff is all UHF now but an indoor aerial is probably a waste of time unless you can see the transmitter from your bedroom window

They are no different than standard UHF aerials.

And your location is needed, to give us some idea of what size of aerial you require.

No such thing as a digital aerial. They are exactly the same as "analogue" aerials.

Based on your unknown location, or which digital channels you're after (Irish DTT trial? Freeview? TNT?) it's impossible for anyone to answer your query.

You may need to be more specific than just "Dublin"?

Pretty much anywhere in Dublin has coverage, unless you live -behind- Three Rock...

You need an aerial that can pick up channel 55 reliably - if you're getting colour on TG4 you're probably sorted - and a suitable decoder. At the moment any Freeview box will work BUT that could change at any time, it is a non-public trial. And it'll only get the (limited) free channels.
