Hi, I only just registered cos I just had to agree with ya about the new medium, Brian. He's being so dramatic, it's a little annoying alright!

Bring back David Wells, I say... He was the best imo

Tis a good live show tonight, v. entertaining. Looking forward to the next couple of nights...

Welcome to boards. My god what was with the 'look in my eyes!!!!' and he keeps yelling and grabbing people, when he shuts up hes grand. I think I preferred David because he seems genuine

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

It's kinda funny actually, I think I can see some members of the team getting a bit p***ed off with him!

He keeps making Yvette jump and you could see on Ciaran's face a few times that he was less than impressed....

Like the new historian though, she seems to know her stuff and get really into it.

And he repeats things about 6 million times! Yea, but she dresses very lady of the manor or something.

omg!! he's doing Acorah's trick of being posessed now!! lol!!

I usually try and keep an open mind, but the posession stuff always has me a bit skeptical, and the way he's been carrying on tonight... bit suspect...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,183 ✭✭✭Puddleduck

And then his reaction when the spirit 'left' his reaction was so fake. My god if I was yvette and carl Id be like gtfo of my team, specially after Acorah

'I'm sorry, what's that sam? you want, you need, a Big Mac, with fries?!' PMSL Oh and the guy who was on first, does he remind you of quark from DS9?!

hey guys i completely agree with ye about the medium, he comes across as a bit of a weirdo. he seems to be grasping at straws a lot of the time. I do like the historian though, its nice to get a bit of history as the investigation is going on.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,569 ✭✭✭iamhunted

i cant even force myself to watch that 'show'.

I watched it myself for about 10 minutes, that psychic was a bit dramatic. it sounded like he was trying too hard. I saw other things like boxes falling and so on. Has it improved or are there still loads of adds ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 96 ✭✭Poltergoose

Heres something about the show last night. The one name the medium kept bringing up was Ambrose, the historian later said this could be Ambrose DeVigante ,minutes later the medium gets Ambrose second name as DeVignate. They talk about this man as being in to witchcraft.
So heres a bit about the man in question,Ambrosius De'Vigante really did exist,he did live in the 15th century, did also hail from Turin and was involved in witchcraft but he was'nt a warlock of any sort but a well respected professor of law ,who wrote treatises on the subject of witch trials.Thats his only link ,maybe he dabbled behind closed doors but seems highly unlikely when the man was of the opinion that things like shape-shifting and familiars were folly and had no place in courts of law.The only thing he really stands out in history as is a very modern thinker for his time, yet Most Haunted seem to pluck names of people that turn up in a google search alongside whatever location they are investigating + witchcraft. This show is beyond credible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,183 ✭✭✭Puddleduck

Thats really interesting pioltergoose..I was always a bit suspicious of the 'historical side' unless they know something we dont

Fair Play for looking into that.
There's a possible slander case for the De'Vigante decendants :D

Have to admit though I am enjoying it.I am sure some of the things that happen are genuine whatever some of the "real ghostbusters" say it's still better than most rubbish on the telly.I had gone off it but it seems they have cut down on all the ads and waffle in between.Agree the medium is damn well dodgy but does add to the fun of it all. Also that dog should be a regular fixture,I thought it was Amityville all over again when he was begging for a bone at the window.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 638 ✭✭✭Endaaaagh

Most Haunted is really going down hill. That new medium seems to think he's the star of the show. Kinda reminds me of William Shatner with all his dramatic pauses, overacting and repeating himself..."My...God.....What have we done........What have we done" (from the first night). The guy is soo obviously faking it. You can even see the way the other crew members do be looking at him when the night vision. Ciaran needs to get onto this guy and expose him like he did Acorah. Maybe they should expose him during the live show. Now that would get some ratings! And why does he seem so shocked whenever he "see's" a black shape or a ghost. Isn't he supposed to be a medium??? You'd think he'd be used to seeing them by now.
And what's going on with yer one in the studio..calling her up looking for spells...is she the resident Witch now as well. They really seem to be clawing for ratings these days.

BTW...here's an interesting like of an interview with Yvette about when Derek left..

its a completely fabricated farce designed more for the 'scare' and 'fun' factor (and lets not forget the phone-in factor) than it is for any form of paranormal research.

So did ye catch it last night? I founds it interesting that all the other "ghosts" could only understand Italian and had to have Yvettes words translated to them by an interpreter. Yet the little 6 year old girl at the end whom they supposedly released in to the light, could understand english perfectly and needed no translation? That medium guy was totally rocking the table during the seance. His arms were totally tensed up and he was holding on the table with his finger tips. When he let go the table stopped rocking. Its Acorah's less gifted twin brother me thinks.

What i hate most about Most Haunted is they have hour's and hours of webcam footage, with millions of people watching them and spotting things. But we never see the results ??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,569 ✭✭✭iamhunted

they dont care as long as enough people ring the premium lines and give MH their money. thats what shows like these are all about - making money and providing 'entertainment'.

Is that not the primary aim of all television programmes.

So why did Derek really leave?
Unbeknown to us, Ciaran O’Keeffe [the show’s resident sceptic] had suspicions about Derek and decided to plant some information to see if it would be repeated. He left a piece of paper around with the name ‘Kreed Kafer’ on it and said, within earshot of Derek, that he was a nasty South African jailor. When we started filming, Derek decided to get possessed by this fake person. The name is actually an anagram of Derek Faker. We tell people everything is real, then it turns out he was a fake, so he had to go.

Here's the clip from that show, I'm presuming its the same name.

I can only imagine Ciaran's hidden-reaction when this happened.

This guy has a huge nose....
Its programmes like these where you have to actually be with them to see if its real or not...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 52 ✭✭miss deise

I absolutely agree. It's just a bit of fun, lads. I believe in some kind of after life, something beyond our understanding. But I don't believe in Most Haunted...

I love it for the entertainment value... I let myself get drawn into it. I do believe that stuff can happen in investigations, but I think they make a lot of stuff up in order to make watchable tv.

I don't care, it's like watching Home and Away (I don't btw), tis crap but people get caught up in it all and discuss it around the proverbial water cooler in work. Why not Most Haunted?

in all fairness the bald guy with the big nose (sorry I dont know his name) was "possessed" on their live show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,183 ✭✭✭Puddleduck

Thats really interesting. I never knew Ciaran set Derek up on the show, fair play I say. I cant watch the shows with him in it, its just too painful

I enjoy some of the stuff that happens on the show and I find it really entertaining but your man, Brian Shepard is just a fake, he commits himself to nothing so that he cant be told 'no, actually, thats wrong' He got caught out last night when he tried to make out that Satan was present in the catacombs and when questioned on it it was 'I dont know why I said it'. I really really hope they dont have him in the series. I liked David Wells and Gordon Smith because they seemed genuine, they didnt seem to do things just for the sake of doing them. Shame theyre gone.

Just watching it at the moment (there's not a lot on to be honest) and the signal keeps going on the TV, maybe I should send them an email saying I think it's a spirit angry that I'm not paying my full attention to the TV.

And before anyone blames the weather, you should know that the sun always shines on Gillo:cool:

Yes, but there's nothing on and MH is the best of a bad bunch.

6Th I need my TV excorised, what are your going rates?

its good to see people see MH is an entertainment show. It should be resigned to forums about sitcoms rather than paranormal forums, since it doesnt actually have a lot to do with paranormal research.
