Hey everyone was looking through the forum and there are a couple of closed threads about this.

Was wondering what peoples experiences of these services are.

I have just cancelled moviestar.ie after spending a month getting old movies at the bottom of my queue. My high priorities were new releases and a few t.v. series that i hadn't seen.

Has anyone else had problems getting what they are looking for out of these services.

How do the others stack up - busybee and screenclick are they worth a look?

not saying i don't want to see them but it would be nice to get a movie in my top 20 on my queue once in a while to justify the expenditure at the minute im not seeing any difference from going to the video store and paying a 10'er a week for 5 old movies and at least I can get a new release if i want one
Was wondering if other people had the same issues with getting new releases / reasonably new movies off moviestar or if any of the other services offer an improvement?

It can be problelmatic getting new realeases. Consequently we use it more like a private "i always wanted to see" library.

My list consists of momovies that I#'ve always wanted to see or would like to see agaiun but wouldn't pay for in xtravision. There's a fair mix in there from old classics though to recent releases.

BusyBeeDVD use to be excellent, but in the last two months, I've been having the same problems as you, only getting old movies from the bottom of my list.

Furthermore in the last few months BusyBee has been very slow in adding new release movies to their site at all. Typically movies appear on the site 2 to 3 months after extra vision get them.

At this rate I'm considering cancelling my busybeedvd subscription, just not worth it anymore.

I've been using screenclick - signed up with the o2 free trial, finished it, then went back a month or two ago to them.

I'm not sure if I have ordered too many 'new releases' off them as I usually use it as other posters have said to get films that I have always wanted to see or see again - but having said that the few times I have wanted to get recently released dvd's I havent been able to find them listed.

What's pissed me off lately is the timing - I sent a dvd back to them there on monday and only got my next one today - hardly a lightning fast turnaround.

When I was first with them I can recall getting up to two dvd's a week; perhaps this is their method to try and get me to sign up for one of the more expensive packages where you can have several dvd's at a time... hmm

Definetly more convenient than going down the video shop but having said that I do still do it occasionally if we're stuck in some evening with nothing to watch

Which crowd are you using for the 3.99 a month?

It was an offer from moviestar to comeback to them. Its only 1 movie at a time but it suits me fine
