Obviously in your world the customer is ALWAYS right. Did you suggest they get some ketchup off the shelf?

I stopped eating ketchup when I heard that they use glycerine from horse bones in it. Yuk! Fine if you are a meat eater but I think that's wrong of ketchup makers to falsely advertise ketchup as a vegetable product when really it contains animals.

I doubt they can just take stock off the shelves like that, they're probably given so much ketchup for the deli counter in a given week.

    snip

Does Heinz ketchup contain animal products?
Heinz Ketchup has never contained any animal products.

In addition, the FDA has set a standard of identity for ketchup that does not permit the use of any animal products. Any deviation from this standard of identity would mean that the product could no longer be called ketchup nor sold legally under the name ketchup.

    see Heinz

Of course you can, its transferring stock for resale into cost of sales!

Hmm, maybe I was wrong and it was glycerine from human bones, I could be mixing them up.

Useless fact: Tomatoes are fruits NOT vegetables.

Aaahhh. I feel reassured. Tomato sauce is for losers only. Mayo ftw!

Ketchup is manky rotten. All tomato related products, and also tomatoes themselves, should be banned.

On a side note, I picked tomatoes for a couple of weeks in Queensland, and they are only starting to turn yellow when they are picked, or tip-coloured as the lad in charge used to call it. I'm sure that entertained you all.

i would've brought them over a bottle from the shelf and if they refused to open it, just walked away.

I've seen them take it off the shelf in our local SuperValu

Usually its huge big battles of special "deli ketchup", and chances are its not up to the deli birds if they can take stock.

Any half decent deli person would have the cop on to take the sauce from the shelf. Any manager would understand the decision.

"It was take the sauce or lose a que of people waiting for breakfast rolls"

The basic ingredients in modern ketchup are tomatoes, vinegar, sugar, salt, allspice, cloves, and cinnamon.

Interesting... Heinz (which I don't like the taste & it's too runny) has garlic in it,
Chef Ketchup (my favourite) does not.

Incidently I hate garlic (disliked Heinz before I saw it had garlic)
