Only getting 1/2 of sky channels after install..

Hi everyone, I wonder could anyone give me advise on the above.
I moved my dish from one house to the other. Aligned it up etc and got locked in & have a sig & quality flicking between 1/2 & 3/4. Either never goes below 1/2. Flicked a few channels, pic Q perfect, wrapped up the job and took the friend who was helping for Chinese and a few pints as a thank you.

Only then last night as I was watching in bed, I noticed that a lot of the channels were missing!! They are on the EPG, but when I select them I get a "no satellite signal is being received" message!!!!
Off the top of my head, Sky 1,2,3 were like this. Also the Sky sports. And I think some of the discoveries.
    RTE1,2,tv3 & BBC's were fine.

Anyone have any idea? It was late and I have the box installed in the attic, so I was not going to go clambering around it to reboot the box etc last night. Do you think a reboot might "fix" it?
I haven't been home since to reboot the box

Someone was telling me that I might not be "seeing all the satellites that I need to see"?? I think there is Astra 2a, 2b, 2c & 2d. Could this be possible? I thought that you just lined up against the Astra cluster and that was it?

Another friend then was telling me that he has seen this once when his friends box was dodgy?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Eoin

It could be any number of problems, though I'd start with alignment. Some transponders will be weaker than others, so if dish is misaligned, the weaker ones will not work properly. Otherwise, it could be your LNB is not functioning properly (BBC NI and RTE's are both Horizontal pol.)

Hi byte, thanks for the reply. I never knew that there was a horizontal/vertical polarization on the sky dishes.
LNB might be a thing alright. It is a brand new LNB, but as we know, new doesn't mean it works :)
The dish had a single LNB up on my old house but I put a quad lnb on it for sky + etc

I might try swapping the LNB after I have tried a box reboot/swap and see if the LNB is the problem. I am loathe to go messing with alignment as it took me so long to get it "bang on" in the 1st place :p
