    Good question this.
I'm thinking about changing over to Chorus/NTL for their
    6Mb/Digital TV offer.

Customer support in Chorus, along with Customer fault resolution, is DIRE !

Some people are lucky and they get a stable service from day one .

If you do not get this working on day one then be prepared to drop the entire package within 48 hours or you will face hell trying to get Chorus to do anything about it and will waste your annual holidays waiting for engineers to call out and never do. This thread below is only a small example . The Naas user in there left them long ago.

If that's one of the eircom DSL routers then no, it can't be used with anything other than DSL.

Heed Sponge Bob's advice, Chorus are a terrible company and any problems are likely to drive you insane long before they do anything about it.
