...it does say 10 megapixels - more than my dSLR :eek:

I know people say it's the photographer that counts but this must be approaching the limit of that saying

Then again my dSLR doesn't have MP3 or movie mode either.

it 5mp sensor, the 10mp uses interpolation
i'd say probably not worth the price & probably not good quality, no optical zoom, no proper flash?, 44mm equiv lens, would be interesting to see some sample photos(to see how bad they are;))

It is good for it's purpose.

It is not good for serious photographer, unles (s)he is going to achieve something special by the visual quality of the pictures.

Hi there,
Do not look for a camera without optical zoom. Yesterday my new gadget arrived and immediately I saw the difference between the one I had before had x6 digital zoom but now that the new one has optical zoom x18 wow what a difference.
Ok I paid over 350euros but my opinion is save what you was going to spend on lidl camera and when you are able to spend a bit more go for one that has good optical zoom.

These are only my thoughts.

I think that for 179.99 euro you can get a pretty decent Canon or other compact camera.

I'd buy 20 of them right now if I were you. In fact, buy shares in the company. 10mp in a form factor that small is revolutionary! Some of the technology pioneered in this device has undoubtedly made it's way into the new 1Ds MKIII. Buy 20!
