I have a US E-Trade account but it will not let me buy UK shares.

I need to open a UK share trading account. E-Trade - UK charge £15 per trade - totally overprices in my opinion.

What UK share trading sites should I consider? Any recommendations?
Or are there Irish ones that let me buy UK shares?
    Thanks

Selftrade.co.uk are pretty good, I use them myself and have never had any issues, generally find them pretty good. You need to have a UK Bank account to fund it. £12.50 per transaction.

Motleyfool.co.uk may be able to recommend some cheaper ones, but you'll not probably not find much at less than £9.99 a trade I think.

Let us know how you get on.

Interactive Brokers charge 6 sterling per trade. You don't need a UK bank account and can also trade US, Euro exchanges, etc. You will need to pay extra for market data, I think it is 5 stg per month for UK quotes.
