I have 60g of Saffron (30g Egyption, 30g Indian) that my brother brought back for me from his holidays in Egypt. However I have no idea what I can make with it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Not sure if you really 'make' anything with it. You can add a little to rice etc. to colour it. Used a lot in Indian/Eastern/Middle Eastern cooking.

you can use it in soups, stocks,sauces etc,also nice in risotto`s and pasta`s

Key ingredient in paella - use risotto rice if you cannot get paella rice - just don't stir it as it cooks. Chicken or seafood. Artichokes and green beans make a good veggie paella.

At least you'll be kept out of trouble for a while ....good bit of saffron to get through too in fairness!! Seems a shame to just use it to 'colour' things IMO

One thing to note about saffron is that if you add too much to a recipe, it can make things *really* bitter.

So even though you have a comparatively large amount of what is usually terrifically expensive, resist the urge to add extra to a dish to make it "even more saffron-flavoured".
