    Ok...
they got the score wrong on the AC Milan game!!
Don't think I'll ever get used to the Oirishness.
I knew that box rubbish would be an anticlimax

So, is Claire gonna kill her father as revenge for West?
What I don't get is why the Company would try and help Sylar, (if that's who Candice was talking to). At least Sylar will be more inventive with his future kills (once he figures out how to use the powers he steals, which should happen eventually)

I wish Hiro would feck off back to the future. I mean, that horse is dead, stop flogging it!

Oh yeah, Maya & Alejandro...broken record anyone?
The only thing different is a new guy and some more Nissan product placement (Which, as some interested person has pointed out elsewhere, seems to be Claire's stolen car?!)

An alright episode, but it needs more time to get the big plot underway, just seems a bit too..disparate. You can't really see where the subplots are gonna link up.

I don't get it though with Sylar. Is he still locked in that womans reality?

It seemed to suggest he was. I am guessing he killed a construct of the woman rather then her.

perhaps, is that why she let her true self to be shown to make him think that he actually killed her and not an illusion? my head hurts

Obviously all the scenes without Sylar were a waste of time. My favourite scene was the second where there was 2 Sylars. I was afraid for a minute that he was actually going to kiss her, but then he killed her, so it was all cool.

I lol'ed when she actually was fat.

Other than that, I'm SO sick of Peter's story (although he does seem to be acting a lot like Sylar, what with the choking and all). The girls accent flucuated wildly between northern ireland, southern ireland, english and American.

Claire and West are pretty boring. Hiro is mildly entertaining, but getting old. I'd really like to see some actual development with the twins.

This season is dragging, IMO. It's like they ran out of storylines. The only time I was actually interested was the reappearance of Sylar, and not just because he's hot. He's going to be pretty useless if he can't use his powers though. And he was a bit premature with killing yer one. He really should have waited a bit...

I think he actually did kill her and that was the actual place where they are. What I would have done if I was sylar would be let her help me get my powers back then kill her. Problem solved.

    Begoragh.
    Top 'o teh morning.
Ta ta te ta ta taaae.

Blatant racism towards racism. And what the bejasus is malcom from star trek enterprise doing in a show this awesome. I would have expected him to only get jobs on daytime tv like barey or maybe that one lazy town??? the one with the girl with pink hair.

Sylar likes to work alone. He saw her power, thought it was pretty damn useful. Why would he need her help if he could do everything she could do?

In fact, it would be easier for him to get to people. He doesn't have to get her to impersonate them, and then get them into a position where he can swoop in. If he's the one impersonating, he doesn't have to wait as long for the opportunity to strike.

Although I agree with you, I'm sure she has has access to info as to others whereabouts and stuff. Above I'm just trying to guess at his reasoning.

I enjoyed this episode, but I'm not as hooked as I was on the first series.

Pretty annoyed that somebody spoiled that Sylar and Nikki?/Jessica?(can't remember which is which anymore) would be in this ep in the thread for the second episode.

So Peter's becoming an Irish gangster eh? :o

I thought it was pretty good, some nice twists and turns, and good old Sylar is back. Chilling ending too.

    Slaaaaahnte.

Pretty sure he killed Candice - she looks, dead, exactly like her first image in the Heroes graphic novels (there's a 4-part story of her origins).
Twins though - please, something new.

anyone else spot the car (not sure what make/model possibly a renault) with the yellow license plate 30 L somethingorother

Meh.. thought it was absolute crap myself!

Pretty predictable and cliche-ridden from start to finish. Worst of the three probably.

Nikki and Micah back.. wasn't that just an exciting return from Nikki? It's such a shame the kid playing Micah can act Ali Larter (Nikki) off the screen in most scenes with a simple expression.

Hiro and Takezo. Not my favourite storyline.. and i have chuffed when i found out he was planning on going home. That backfired in my face.

Mexican "Typhoid Mary" and her brother. We got plenty of story develpoment there this week alright... what did we learn in this episode we didn't learn in the season opener?

And my biggest gripe this week - (sorry for caps but) SINCE WHEN DID THIS SHOW TURN INTO FÚCKING 'SMALLVILLE'?! The Claire and West moments made me gag.. and the coy little kiss at the end on the beach. I hope a writer was brought out back and shot for that.

"What if i do this? It hurts... oooohh.... ha ha. You're so dreamy Clark Kent.. i mean West."

And as for the HRG reference, i saw it coming a mile off. And i really hoped we'd gotten rid of that daft 'HRG' reference.. it's bad enough "the fanboys" still refer to him as HRG even though WE KNOW HIS NAME (sorry, caps again).

And Peter's staying in Ireland... someone, please.. make the bad accents stop. I thought i could ignore them but i really can't. They just seem to get more stereotypically Oirish from week to week.

The only highlights being the return of Sylar, and the last photo of the series (hope they don't kill off Noah). Looking forward to seeing the other 6.

I really hope this season picks up the pace as (and i never thought i'd say this) my interest is really weaning!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,368 ✭✭✭thelordofcheese

Personally, i'm loving the irish stuff more and more. Terrible accents seem to be part and parcel of most television, and i'm just enjoying the unintentional humour. Plus seeing people so wound up about it is great.
If they stay in cork all season, i'd be happy.

Otherwise, it's good to see the honeymoon is over and people are ready to whine and moan about the show. I mean, it's not as if season one took forever to get anywhere......

Also, i'm kinda sure that candice isn't dead, when sylar ran out of the little hut the blood on his hands seemed to have vanished, so thats either a goof, or a tell that candice isn't dead (would also explain his lack of powers)

Good catch... but don't think it's him. With the white gown / suit, he could be "Fitty" or Kanye for all we know! ;)

I noticed that too but I don't think it was him. It was way too blurry to make out who it was.

I agree with Basquille, thought this episode was utter dog ****e.

most interesting bits was finding out sylar can't harvest a hero's power anymore.

and the future painting of Noah's death (really hope they stop this as he's my favourite character).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,367 ✭✭✭Agamemnon

This was a transitional episode, moving the characters around and setting up future storylines without anything really happening.

I'm glad Peter didn't open the box because it means that the Oirishness will continue for a while yet. I'm LOL'ing at every scene set in PseudoCork, it's very funny.

I'm surprised DL seems to be dead. He looked to have survived at the end of last season, but why visit a fake grave? Micah should be safe enough in Lt. Uhura's care anyway. Heroes is becoming a retirement home for old Star Trek actors.

Great to have Sylar back. Maybe the place he's in is a bit like the Savage Land in the X-Men comics and powers are cancelled out there. But this wouldn't explain how Candice can use her powers, unless she knew a way around it. It's a pity Candice wasn't played by the smokin' hot Missy Peregrym but if the actress didn't want to come back, better to kill off the character.

That tosser West makes me incandescent with RAGE. The actor looks like an even dopier version of Keanu Reeves, if such a thing is possible. That's a real-life superpower in itself. Hopefully Noah won't be killed off - not everything Isaac painted came true, e.g. the destruction of New York.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

Well they managed to avert the last one of the first series, with the destruction of new york, so is this series "Save the cheerleader, save the... Noah?"

Missy Peregyrm is on 'Reaper' this year.. but it's not like it wasn't easy for the writers to adapt to her departure seamlessly. I mean she was a "shape-shifter".

"Transitional episode"? That excuse would have worked leading up to something major.

But what characters were "moved around" in this one? We're practically in the exact same place we were at the start of the episode with the twins, Parkman, Peter, Mohinder, Claire, West... and.. well, need i go on?

Nothing really moved.. nothing significantly changed... nothing major happened!

Apart from we got a lacklustre return of Sylar (but in this episode, it was nothing short of magnificent when compared with the episode on a whole). And we got a couple of slight hints as to where the season is going but it was hideously uneventful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

Well i was happy we where right and she was really fat when she died but not when she was unconscious, i enjoyed the episode i wasent expecting the start of the series to be amazing on a bsg season 3 starter level, i knew it would be kinda slow and would be about the charactors trying to fit into different lives.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

They showed her fat in one of the episodes last year didn't they?

Also, those accents make the baby jebus cry. Surely they could have sourced a few irish actors, not like there isn't enough of them around, but maybe the real irish accent isn't 'real' for americans?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭tvnutz

So far,3 episodes in,this season has been average at best. But perhaps it is because I am comparing it to all of season 1 and the show has been hyped up hugely. When I think about it,I hated the first two episodes of season 1 and nearly didn't continue to watch the show. I only got into it around episode 4. So perhaps it will pick up.

Things they really need to do:

    1. Get Hiro back to the present. That storyline was only average to begin with and now it is being dragged out. Just when I thought he would be going back...they decide to drag it out more.

    2. Get Peter out of Ireland. I thought I could ignore the really bad accents but I just can't. Such a mixture of bad accents, none of them anything like a Cork accent. Not to mention the Securicor blokes having Glocks

    3. The Twins need something big, because I have no interest in them at all. I was actually more interesed in Nikki's non-story this week compared to them. Either develop them or realise it is a bad plot with bad characters and kill them off like Paulo and Nikki in Lost.

4.Have "West" (still can't get over that name) shot in the head please. Really annoying character and as someone mentioned a really dopey actor. I don't know what it is about him,but he just has one of those faces you want to punch.

Apart from that, good to have Sylar back, lets hope they don't drag out the now powers thing. Also hope Noah doesn't die, great character and actor.

To be honest regarding the Oirish accents.. we all somewhat pre-empted this would happen.

I recall posting the news here during the Summer of the new characters in Season 2. One being an Irish gangster. And the first thing i did was check IMDb praying he'd actually be Irish and found out... he wasn't! :( I lost all hope then and knew this would be coming!

Yeah but they are worse then I imagined. I thought it would only be one character not a dozen. Also that girl's accent is just attrocious. It constantly irritates me.

What I meant was that some of the little things that happened will (hopefully) lead to major events in future episodes: Mohinder is now based in New York with the Company watching his every move so sooner or later, they'll come for Molly; Niki is off to do some work for the Company; Noah knows he's going to die so he'll probably have to enlist Hiro's help to alter the outcome and Claire is turning against him and she'll be egged on in that by that tool West.

The twins are useless though, I hope they're shot while trying to cross the Rio Grande.

RIP Candice, you can shift my shape anytime. :(

So has Sylar lost all his owers or is someone/something stopping him from using them?

Feckin Security guards with guns, they havent a clue eh, were the cars even on the left?

the twins are really buggin the sh1te outame tho.

I'm still lovin the Hiro in ancient Japan thing.

we need a Hiro Smiley >.<

when did DL die? did Sylar get his power? why couldnt it have been Nikki.

both Sylar and Peter tryin to figure out their powers could be a bit much tho.

DL was shot by linderman and then killed linderman shortly afterwards. He died inthe "6 months" between seasons... or whatever it was.

I have to agree with the general sentiment. The whole show seems to be moving along at a snails pace. I know it was slow in Season 1 but that was quaint, like it was playing hard to get. Having seen what the show is capable of, now it is just a fúcking prick tease!

Anyways, I still think Sylar is inside of Candice's fake reality and that is the only reason why he cant use his powers, because she is making it look like they arent working. I mean really, a little shack surrounded by sand in the middle of what looks like the amazon rainforest? :s

She would have to (or at least or boss) would have to have known that Sylar would try to kill her and therefore she took the necessary precautions. I mean, if she is capable of creating images of 2 people then she is clearly capable of creating an alternate version of herself.

Sadly, I'm not convinced this is the case and instead we will just see lots of screen time of Sylar being perplexed by a jungle he cant bludgeon over the head and steal powers from.

First episode this season; It was just great to have heroes back.
Second episode this season; I was still excited, but a little worn. Still, willing to give the show some slack.
Third episode this season; and I'm just getting píssed off :(

The thing was in the 1st season things were just getting started. The younger characters were just discovering their powers and wondering what was happening. The coincidental meetings and then how they'd move on again alone was well done. It was a tease, the beginning of what was promising to be an epic story. Then bit by bit they got a better handle on their powers, figured out about each other and that there were other forces at work. By the end of season 1 all of the characters (who survived the year) were together in one place and achieved their goal, albeit in a lackluster finale.

But now in season two we are back to square one. The characters have mostly spread apart, again. We are back to coincidental meetings (Parkman, Nathan and Ando). Peter is back to trying to figure out his powers. And it really doesn't work. Firstly because it just feels like a re-hash of last year. And secondly because last year it was far more interesting as we were guessing about the nature of the characters and their powers. This year we know who they are and what they are capable of/what their agenda is so it's all the more pointless because there is nothing to keep us guessing.

I was pretty happy with this ep, I'm thinkiing Sylar is either in the alt reality still and she's still alive or she implants alt realitys in people's heads and unless she removes them they stay for good or take awhile to ware off.

I keep coming back to this symbol.....It appears on Peter before his tatoo dissappears, Hiros Sword, Nikkis back, Peters Necklace, The book, its featured heavily in the comics.

I really hope this isnt gonna go Roswell on us

Ok i had a chance to read this thread fully and i was suprised by some of the negative posts but i was happy with the positive poll so meh.

I thought it was DL in the backround as well i cought it but didnt bother to re-wind to double check cause i knew someone on board would have the answer. Em... ok im guessing from the posts that this west charactor is the same actor that plays a boy clark kent in small vill?
Well i dont like the way he and claire have some story, he is a much worse charactor than claires friend from season 1 he was a good actor and a better charactor as well.

I have a good idea of what direction things are going to take. Based on everyones powers i assume that they will need a event to bring the main charactors together for a important reason?

Hero's abality to bend space/time would make the most sense so the main story arc of this season will probbley be introduced to the hiro story line first, because he is the one cappable of summoning all the other heroes since they are all in hiding, ofcoarse he may need the tracking system to help him locate them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,488 ✭✭✭Goodshape

    Meh.

Nothing interesting happened in this episode. So the two potentially best, certainly most powerful, characters from last season - who we watched slowly building up those powers over the course of the previous year, have now... lost their powers :-/ Yawn.

Everything seems to be back to square one, more or less, and so far it's a whole lot less interesting than it was the first time 'round.

Far too much amnesia / 'how did I get here?' / on-the-run-again / fresh start / is he a good guy or a bad guy? .....haven't we been through all that already?

Also, as I suspected, the hype machine has damaged my appreciation somewhat. I remember being very pleasantly surprised when George Takai and Christopher Eccelson turned up in season one... not so at all with Nichole Nicoles and yer-man-from-star-trek-enterprise in the last couple of episodes. I've known they were appearing for months and, consequently, Nichoes big 'reveal' in this episode seemed totally overblown.

And none of the new characters have proven their worth yet... alright, it might be early days, but I really don't think more characters is what was needed. The ones we had were interesting enough (before they lost their memory and/or found themselves in ridiculously re-detached situations) and no-one's getting enough screen time at the moment.

Here's hoping they turn it around pretty quickly.

    Not sure about this episode.

Interesting about Sylar and the 8th painting. If Sylar was out for 4 months they could have had time to study him like they wanted to in season 1 and found a way to subdue his gained powers. We see he still has his original ability to see how things work.

The lack of research into Ireland is annoying. The cgi was terrible for the Hiro and West/Claire parts.

I hope that the next episode will really get us hooked like episode 4 did in series 1.

I think that in the four months that have passed the heroes formulated some Big plan to bring down the company. We already see that Noah, the Haitian, Dr. Suresh and Parkman are working on bringing it down. Maybe Peter, Niki and Nathan are involved aswell.

We see that Niki is with the company and that they want her to "Do something for them" in exchange for curing her. She could be using that as a way to get in. She left Micah as it was too dangerous.

Peter could have volunteered to loose his memory to get to the Irish gangster and get something they want from him. Maybe he can read thoughts and would have seen Peter's intentions.

Nathan, not sure how he could be involved other than keeping an eye on his mother and the other senior company members. that might explain him bumping into Ando in the first episode and maybe the beard aswell so Ando wouldn't recognise him.

Then again I could be way off the mark. :)

When are we going to get to see the boogeyman?

The Heroes writers are under the impression that everyone in Ireland is armed to the teeth. Maybe they were on holiday over here and were held up at gunpoint or something. LOL at the armed security guards. I know 2 guys who work as security guards and I wouldn't trust them with water pistols.

What I'd like to know was who's idea it was to have them wear white shirts and badges.

Where were the heads on the pints of Guinness that they were drinking afterwards? If that's what a pint of the black stuff looks like in the states remind me never to order one over there!

If Peter drinks a pint of Guinness that looks like that, he's going to need all of his regeneration power to survive the visit to the bathroom the next day.

    lol :D

Whats the bet that the barmaid has some powers aswell? She seemed to take Peter's display of ability pretty well.

Sorry but i couldent be happier with the way its going, seing so many negative posts and negative comments does not bother me. I think it will be a good season and i am enjoying it so far. The only thing that bothered me was Geroge being killed :(
The twins are a bit annoying but besides that its all good. Actually funny thing about the hiro story is that at the end of season 1 if anyone wants to go back and find the post i said i wanted him to stay in the past for several episodes and i got exeatly what i wanted,
    and syler still allive?
    Nicole is in it now?

Im happy with what we have in season 2, the only 2 bad things are those twins and that guy who is with claire, geroge dying is not a sbad thing ebcause a spointed out there will be flashbacks

    A load of rubbish

    Hiro is boring
    Niki is boring
    Twins are boring
    Claire is boring
    Irish scenes are boring

The only redeeming thing about this whole episode was Sylar. Truly was the worst episode of Heroes I have ever seen.

The Oirishness was pretty lacklustre this episode indeed. Securicor employees wearing Homeland Security uniforms and packing handguns.

At least the getaway car was a right-hand drive, and the advertising on the wall had it's pricing in euros.

The Oirish scenes are hilarious. Generic celtic knot = family crest, haha. Also I never knew we had so many guns.

Overall I liked the episode. Things are kind of moving forward... slightly.

Ok potential solution to remove some of the excess chaff.

West offers to track down Claire's stolen car as favour. Finds the twins.

Offers to fly them back to America being kindred spirits and all.

On way he accidentally drops the guy, sister has bleeding eyes attack due to stress. West dies, she plummets to her death conveniently landing in the middle of nowhere.

Lo and behold they both land where Sylar is. He finds West's barely breathing body analyses brain and flies back (I'm assuming he's fully recovered).

    Rampage begins.
